Hello, everyone! I am here for two reasons: 1. To introduce myself 2. To give you my proof of faith!

1. My name is Nerull and I am from the greatest place ever: Carceri! I have believed in my religion all my life and I am always looking to convert others to help them see.

2. Aside from the Bible, of course. God wrote the Bible, we know God wouldn't lie, and so we know He is our one and true Creator. However, critical "thinkers" don't accept this as evidence, and so I present to you a little something I whipped up.

LOGICAL PROOF FOR CHRISTIANITY

A = God exists
B = The universe was created by some supernatural process(es)
C = The universe formed on its own (i.e. at random) by natural processes
D = Matter and energy can be created or destroyed by natural processes (chemical, physical)
E = Universe is composed of matter and energy (ignoring dark energy and dark matter since we still don't know what it really is)
F = Universe exists
G = Universe can be created or destroyed by natural processes (chemical, physical)

Notes:


*Subtle difference between C and G. G states it can be created or destroyed by natural processes, while C states it was created by natural processes.


*In this proof, the reason it is possible for (B&~C) to be true is that the creation of the universe by supernatural forces means something undefined or impossible to define in accordance with the natural laws that govern the universe.

I don't know whether you know this or not but we don't hold with maths. Prevaricating, heathen scientists use maths to confuse ordinary people and pretend to be so smart.

You need to beef up your introduction. You missed providing a lot of details that the title suggests.

Welcome to our forum, friend. Carceri -- that's in Italy, isn't it. You aren't one of those Mary-worshipers who pals around with that pope guy, are you?

I reviewed your "proof of Christianity" and the problem with Boolean shenanigans of that sort is that your proof also works for Shiva, or Allah, or Zeus, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

The only logical proof I need is this one.
P1: The Bible says it.
P2: I believe it.
C: That settles it.

I apologize if any of you misunderstood and think that I believe in the profane arts; I was merely attempting to combat their arguments by using their own tools against them.

I am sorry, however, for only after your comments do I now see that I should resist the temptation to use logic and other tools of Satan's worshipers among such a deeply religious crowd and in a realm so holy lest I begin thinking like them as well.

Once again, I shall do my best in the future to avoid a repetition of this grave mistake.

Now then, Bible Student, I meant to do this earlier but I got caught up in my fight against the atheists. Here is the requisite information for this introduction board:

I currently attend Northport Baptist Church. As I am in a dormitory at school for the course of my higher education (Biblical studies,if you are curious ), I must wake up extra early every Sunday so that I may have enough time for both my morning prayer and Bible reading as well as the thirty minute-long drive to get there on time. Still, I count this among my blessings; the hour (or more) drive gives me plenty of time for silent contemplation and I rather enjoy the serenity of it all.

If I had to choose which Bible verse is my favorite, then I would pick Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Lastly, but certainly not least, how I was brought to Christ's loving arms: my mother, a God-fearing woman, always encouraged me to walk in His footsteps ever since I was a babe while my father always guided me with a strong hand in my beliefs. Although I have had to endure many trials and tribulations during my lifetime, I have not swayed a little in my faith.

P.S. Carceri is indeed in Italy. Worry not, though, my brothers, for I was only born there and have never consorted with the Pope nor his minions. We flew back to the great United States as my parents wanted me raised in a proper setting (a small Southern Baptist church in Georgia).

No, Mr. Hutchins, I am afraid you are mistaken. I have never claimed to be in Carceri, I claim to have been born there, you see. I put it as my location because it is near and dear to my heart; I did not grow up there, but I have visited it often (many family members live there). I never claimed to be from Alabama; my church is Northport Baptist Church, a church on Long Island. I do not claim to live currently in Georgia; that is merely where I was raised. I currently live on Long Island, but I at no point made mention of living in Stony Point (though I believe you meant Stony Brook, a town not far from where I live). I see how you may have become confused and I understand your concerns, but I assure you that they are unfounded.

To BookOfExaltedDeeds: I did not say that the logical proof I had written out is my proof for my belief, merely that I use it as a counter to those who reject my evidence for believing in God. If you will read my introductory post more closely, you will see that it is the same as yours.
