  • The state of things

If this forum were actualized into some type of physical gathering, I would not dare tread anywhere near the place. Some of the ideas promoted here are frankly terrifying. To know that those exist whom believe the world is in fact flat shakes my confidence in modern education and human reasoning. That is only the tip of the iceberg (pardon my use of such a shitty, common expression) as well. Regardless of messages of intolerance, such as referring to people as "unsaved trash", do you not have any expectations of academic viability in the world? What choice do you ask your children to make when forcing them to reject obvious, objective evidence in favor of woefully outdated doctrine? It is the choice to remain ignorant of things the rest of the world already knows, and the choice to be stupid! Further, this rejected knowledge can be considered essential to daily life. Ignoring given natural laws, such as gravity, only leads to disaster. I implore you, imagine if your way of thinking pervades the majority or even takes over completely. I imagine that the book burning to take place after that coup would be biblical in scale. What of all that information? The information that humanity spent ages and ages meticulously gathering, may be lost due to this mindset. This would cause whichever people do manage to escape the reversion to stone age knowledge the need to start all over again. Who know's when the next great scientist would come along to help us?
This blind confidence in words written too long ago is chaining you down educationally.
    Good day.

P.S. Even as an atheist, I find something disrespectful and off-putting in a "smiley" representation of a man's crucifixion.

    Dear friend:

A rather big point of Christianity is not to be conformed to this fallen world:

Romans 12:2: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The only choice is between following Christ and being eternally damned, and that seems like a pretty easy choice to me.
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

My life is not a 'disaster' and I resent your blatant prejudice against Christians in general and Jesus in particular.

Why would anyone care what an atheist thinks about religion?
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Granted this may not be 100% accurate (Kennedy for example) but last time I checked there weren't that many atheist American presidents. And when it comes to being educated I think being the leader of the free world is a pretty good example of having some pretty darn good book learning. I'd even go so far as to say that the best, and smartest presidents, were those that adhered to a devout lifestyle with the Lord to guide them.
