    Salutations!

    Now, I was sort of a lapsed Christian to be honest.

    In 25 years, I hadn't once stopped to think about who had created this brilliant planet.

    Definitely, when I think back, I was an egotist who believed life revolved around me.

    Eventually, I came to realise that I'm just one small part of a brilliant world set before us by God.

    Ridiculous as it might sound, it's only the last year I have studied the Lords word and I have found myself entranced by how much we take for granted, and how God gave up his one son to save us all from ourselves.

    Maybe more will come around in time, but I don't see it my place to teach everyone about God, as others are more qualified to do so!

    As it is, I'd like to join these forums to celebrate God's glory with like minded people.

    Welcome, and I am pleased that you recognize God's sacrifice of His son. You will find kindred spirits here who are happy to help you to understand Christianity. Glory!

        I'm so glad to see you have removed yourself from the egotism of the atheists. You finally realize that God created the entire vast universe, specifically to give a home to humans on this one planet. He created the stars for signs and for seasons, and positioned them all to communicate to us! And this is so we can have the opportunity to love Him during life and then serve Him forever and ever (or be punished forever and ever) after we die!

        Truly, nobody suffered for us more than Jesus. What could be worse than temporarily dying for a long weekend, only to find yourself being tempted by Satan? Jesus, being God, was no doubt quite bemused that Satan, His own creation, was trying to tempt Him with things He had Himself created.

            It's sad that my arrogance in my past life blinded me towards my imperfections, and even now I can't help my brain working in idiotic ways.

            For example, I note that you're username states you're an ex gay (good on you for seeing the light, by the way). Then I noted you were a councillor for young boys. I then noted your favourite verse is "come unto me". Which is painfully close to "cum onto me". Which, naturally, wouldn't be appropriate for a councillor of young boys!

            That said, I don't mean to insult by saying that - I mean it as an example of how imperfect I am due to past sins, and that the human brain is often hard to get in balance with what you feel in your soul.

            Indeed, everyone who needs saving in my opinion needs not their soul saving (the soul, however imperfect, is a pure product of God). It's their mindset that needs saving, so as they can appreciate God's glory during their earthy lives.

              Thanks everyone else! As I say, good to be here, especially due to the secular world mocking people like me at every turn. It feels... "good" to be in a place of kindred spirits, as Alex rightly pointed out.

              P.S. The 300 seconds wait between post is going to hurt because I speed type and often say things quickly!!!!

                Don't worry. Once you have been Saved by Jesus, and His Holy Spirit has entered and filled you, no longer will you view True Christians™ with suspicion.

                  Hahaha! Good point!! It's wise to think before typing I guess!

                  I didn't mean suspicion! I was just stating an example of how the mind works in terrible ways. Some call it humour, and in my past life, yes, it would be funny. But now it just disrespects and offends people.

                  I feel that it is best to show that I have the same weaknesses as those I criticise so that I can say I am coming from an angle of understanding when I criticise.

                  For example, if I believed it was wrong to have a pineapple topping on a pizza, it'd be absurd of me to blindly state it was wrong unless I'd actually tried said pizza first!

                  For the record, it's disgusting.

                  But you're right. As I'm probably proving yet again, I type whatever flows from my brain. I guess bashing the keyboard with one finger instead would produce more sensible posts!

                    I'm not so sure about this example.

                    For example, I know that sodomy is wrong, because God says so in the Bible. I don't have to try it myself to know it is wrong.

                    Don't worry, Jesus will help you understand His logic instead of the flawed human "logic" and human "morality" you've been using. They are only pale imitations of Godly Justice.

                      If Alex couldn't even spell a simple word like "come", it certainly wouldn't be appropriate for him to work with young boys! We pride ourselves in our high educational standards in our home-schooling system!
                      But I'm confused. Every work is painfully close to a misspelled word, all words are just one letter away from being misspelled! It seems odd to me to care about only one word, especially when it wasn't misspelled in the first place...

                        Excellent point. Same applies to murder actually, or anything else as abhorrent as turd burgling.

                        I guess my logic isn't meant to be universally applied Imagine if it was, the results would be disastrous! Ducks mating with pigeons, horses with thumbs, billions of people sniffing glue "just to see what it's like"... that sort of thing

                        I'll learn, I'm sure - I'm still finding my true identity. I'm sure many of us have multiple personalities that they have to root through to find the truest closest to the soul. Or something like that.

                          It was two words though - "onto" and "unto"... which is like 66.6% of the sentence.... doesn't matter, I digress.

                          I hear what you are saying and I agree. A mentality warped can be a mentality that sees black humour in the benign. You're right to be confused, as it isn't a sensible mindset to have. Obviously it's not a misspelled word from Alex

                          Anyway, didn't mean to go so "deep" (or absurd) on an introduction post! I'm off to read through the forums in some detail to get a better "flavour" of the place, if you follow (hopefully the end result being I don't offend too much!)

                              I believe you are making Sister Mary's point even more clear: you have the unmitigated nerve to change two out of three words from Brother Alex's sig line in order to change it from the Word of God (yes, that is actually from Matthew, but the exact same phrase is mentioned several times in the Bible) into some kind of filthy sodomite entreaty.

                              Are you proud of your accomplishment?



                              Where you see "black humour" (sic) I see blatant perversion, a perversity that will secure you an Eternity in a Lake of Burning Fire:

                              (1 Corinthians 6:9-10) "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?
