Let's see Octavia..."you and me are quite similar in our beliefs"...okay I got that part.

"though I consider myself more Christian than Agnostic"...

You didn't mean you are both. Yet you said your are more Christian than agnostic didn't you? To say that something is more of one thing than another, still implies it consists of two things.

    More chocolate than vanilla...still both.

Let's say I misinterpreted you though. Still you are "more" Christian? More than what? You have to be more of than something and less of something. I am going to assume (yes I know about assuming, but I am going out on a limb for you) that you mean you are more Christian than not-Christian.

Which still brings us back to the original question. How can you be both? How can you be Christian and not-Christian? If you profess to be Christian, then you believe in God. If you believe in God, then you believe what God says about Himself Revelation 22:13 "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last."

Or is there room for interpretation there? Or did God mean He is sort of the Alpha and Omega, or more Alpha or more Omega?

And this is not a matter of my belief or interpretation Octavia, apparently, it's yours. Can you answer the question, please.

How do you take the hand of Jesus, and yet, say, I don't really believe in You?

Can you clarify that for me?
Thank you. This is the kind of rational and civil conversation I was looking for...

Though we have differing views, it is nice to see that we need not be so malicious and hostile to one another.

I got the same reactions in my introduction thread from the people here.

Really? That's awesome! I'm trying to do that right now.

What do you plan to do now that you have it?

Lol sorry I am "under the influence" I am surprised albeit amused that people here are so judgemental. They have nothing but hateful words for others who have different beliefs.

Octavia, it is nice to meet you too. Now that I have a BA in Psychology I plan on attending graduate school in the spring and receive a Masters in clinical psychology.

Good luck with your studies... It really is an interesting major.

First of all while I did choose the peace symbol I did not post the costumed hippie girl. I am guessing one of the admins did that. The avatar I have up right now is a picture of me and I can assure you sir I am no harlot...

You should educate yourself on the origins of your beloved symbol. You might as well have Baphomet in your avatar.
I never said you needed to hold hands with others different from you and sing kumbaya...I am simply saying that to me, peace means understanding that there will always be people with views different from your own and as a HUMAN BEING you should respect their views and beliefs even though you disagree with them.

And your link to the "origins of my beloved symbol" was ridiculously skewed and subjective to your beliefs.

    1. You weren't defending yourself. You chose to side with another piece of unsaved trash in his rant thread, and were defending him.
    2. There was nothing mean about saying that his conjecture was not proof.
    3. You said "I have yet to be mean or outrightly hateful towards anyone." Which is obviously a lie, since you have been. Which leads me to the question, why do you hate my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ?
Though you may think I am "unsaved" I am in no way unwashed. I take a shower every morning, sometimes 2 a day thank you very much.

I also do not hate Jesus Christ (if such a person even exists). You might also believe that I hate you but I do not.

Hate is such a draining and useless emotion to possess.
