Hello!

Hello, my Name is Micheal, I've been Living in British Columbia Canada my whole life, and a Faithful Christian for 20 years. I've been looking for a community that speaks TRUTH and the REAL gospel of the Lord, and I'm overjoyed to have been guided here. I felt as if It was God's hand that brought be here.. so I feel I have a purpose being sent here. I don't know what that is yet, but I feel it's to help spread the Gospel to nonbelievers. In the mean time I would like to say hello! I wish to become an active part of this community. I've never seen such a gathering of righteous followers, it's amazing! Truly the word of the Lord is full of grace and Truth to have attracted so many people into one wonderful location. I'm a Deacon at Victory Baptist Church in Langley BC, and my role is to minister to the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of our church members and their families. Now, I said in the beginning of my post I have only been a Christian for 20 years... I'd like to tell you about that. My whole youth up until the time I was 19 I was a non-believer. I had never been exposed to the Bible or the Word of God, as my Mother was a Heathen (I didn't know that back then. I only pray to God she accepts Jesus as her Lord and Savior eventually. She is very stubborn despite 20 years of vigorous effort, Amazing!). Like many others I had heard of Christianity, but as a Teenager I never was interested in finding out more. That was until a friend invited me to Sunday Worship for the first time (At Victory Baptist Church, no less!). I was reluctant to go, but decided, "Hey, what's all the fuss about? I might as well go." So I went, and it was amazing to see how welcoming and warm the people where. I could feel a love I couldn't get anywhere else... I was in awe of the Reverence these people had, and rightly so, I could feel something stirring in my heart.. The rest of the service was illuminating, and I could finally start to see why people came to Church, this point of light in an otherwise dark world. It was on July 9th, 1991, a few weeks after my first service, that the truth of the Scriptures the Pastor had been preaching about finally hit home. IT WAS LIKE A LIGHTNING BOLT OF TRUTH! At 11:37 PM on july 9th, I was awoke from a dead sleep by the words, "Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you" I was fearful, shaking, and in awe. I had heard this voice as surely as any other person speaking. I wrote it down, and later went and told my Pastor, Pastor Spence, and told him what I had been told. He look stunned, took out his King James Bible, and repeated Isaiah 35:4 "Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you." My jaw dropped, and then and there I knew I had found the Truth, the one and only, and that GOD HIMSELF had communicated his Truth to me!!! It was almost too much to believe, my heart was so full of joy, I thanked Pastor Spence crying, and from then on became a faithful member of his congregation since then... Phew, well that was emotional for me. It's hard to put into a paragraph my story, impossible to express in words true revelation. I hope I can continue to learn here and serve the Lord to my full capacity, I'll sure try, and hope to part of the journey with Landover Baptist Church!
