Who cares what you think? Who are you to judge God? It's what JESUS thinks that counts, not some addle-brained girl who gnaws blubber for breakfast.

My name is Kate, and I currently don't attend any church. My parents stopped taking me when I was very little and haven't had the opportunity to go to one since.
I've also never read the bible, but I believe completely in Jesus. I am here in an attempt to better start a connection with Him and myself.

Your parents sound like worthless human beings. The way I see it, they should be brought up on charges of child abuse and neglect for failing to see to your spiritual upbringing. It's time you find yourself a new family.

Where in the Bible does it say parents should let their kids "find their own path in life?"

I have never heard that verse...

Here is what the Bible does say:

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. - Proverbs 22:6

Obviously your parents did not ingrain Bible Truth into your brain deeply enough, or else you would never have abandoned it.

If a bus, or perhaps a dogsled or snowmobile, hits you tomorrow while you cross the street, and you die, and God tells you that He is going to burn you alive for all eternity in His Lake of Fire (as promised in the Bible) for your disbelief, will you still be glad your parents "let you find your own path" straight to unending torment?

You are welcome here if you are willing to learn.

But so far all you've said is that if any parts of the Bible say things you don't like, you want nothing to do with them.

How are we supposed to take that?

It isn't very conducive to being a True Christian, and until you are willing to put yourself aside and put GOD first, you will never be a True Christian.
