    Hello

    Hello everyone,
I suppose it's best to get this out of the way first, I am not a Christian. I do not subscribe to any particular religion. I practice a policy of religious syncretism, absorbing new beliefs into my own as I discover and evaluate them. I am here first and foremost for interfaith discussion and hopefully spiritual betterment. I feel the need to make it clear that I am NOT here for argument, I am NOT here to flame this forum, and I am certainly NOT here to disparage those who subscribe to the beliefs of the LBC, or any church. I'm just here to have good-natured, friendly discussion with the people here about mine and their beliefs.

With that said, it's good to be here.

So, in other words, you pick tidbits from false religions and cults that make you feel good and you want to discuss your heathen foolishness with us?

My friend, do you understand what your blasphemy will earn you in the sulfurous lakes of fire in Hell? There will be no second chance.

No, it's just a nickname I got in high school. It doesn't mean anything so don't think too hard about it.

What on Earth is religious syncretinism?

1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Well, from my point of view it would be foolish to tie oneself down to a rigid dogma rather than using one's own intellect to determine what one truly believes. I make a point to keep an open mind when it comes to religion, because in my opinion, truth can come from anywhere, even what was once viewed as a cult or false religion. "If the advice be good, it matters not who gave it."

Religious syncretism is the policy of, in stead of following a certain set of beliefs, allowing your beliefs to be fluid and changing as you grow spiritually and intellectually. It's also about allowing new wisdom and knowledge to come from any source and any faith.

It kinda sounds like Universalism. It makes me want to puke.

                Jesus tells us this:

Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

In other words, most paths lead to eternal damnation. Only Jesus leads to everlasting life.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

                  Welcome Cap'ncola

What's your favourite Bible verse, what inspires you? - the one that inspires me today is:

                  Leviticus 18:25
And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
                  Genesis 7:5
And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.

                  John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Your salad bar approach to Eternal Salvation may seem like a fun thing to do, but it won't mean a damned thing when Jesus casts you into the Lake of Fire.

If you want to know about Christianity, try this: get a King James Version Bible and start at Genesis 1:1 and end at Revelation 22:21. It will only take a couple of weeks unless you're some kind of dimwit.

I don't do it because it seems fun, I do it because it appears to me to be the best way to discover the true nature of my own beliefs. And I've read the bible, and most of it did not appeal to me whatsoever. In fact, a lot of things in the bible made me want to throw up in disgust at the moral ugliness of some Christian beliefs. But I digress, the point is that your "lake of fire" threat only holds water if I believe that's actually going to happen to me, which I don't.

You're quite happy to quote stuff from George from Seinfeld though . The Bible has the definitive word on liars:

                            1 John 2:22
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

I'm sorry if that makes you throw up in disgust.

This is because there is serious sin in your life that you refuse to acknowledge, likely of a sexual nature. Rather than read God's Word, what He thinks of your filthy soul and how to be forgiven, you turn to the scribbles and gibberish of freak charlatans and heretics in search of "inspiration" that makes you think you are a normal person. But our Lord is not a fool.

Proverbs 15:3 "The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good."

Will you renounce the sin with me today, my friend? Ask Jesus for help with your wicked faults? All you have to do is ask Him.

Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

We are here to help, but you must want to change.
