I attend Faith Baptist Church Williamsburg (Strict Fundamentalist Baptist interpretation of the 1611 King James Bible [as it should be praise The Lord!]). A friend of mine from my church showed me this website and I was amazed and impressed to see so many intelligent people who are saved!

In any case I want to share the story behind my faith.
I grew up in Coralville Iowa (Just outside Iowa City). I must admit that I have sinned a lot in the prior stages of my life, but by no fault of my own. Neither of my parents were religious so for the most part I was brought up in a Goddless Heathen atmosphere. The exception to this are my grandparents (Godbless them!) who own a thousand acre farm in BlackHawk Country Iowa. Thank The Lord my grandparents used to bring me to their Baptist Church when visited them I was younger, so in Saturday school I was taught the KJB in the proper way, and about the true origins and nature of earth (A piffleing monkey? I think not.)

I would almost characterize myself as a former atheist. It has never been the case that I outright thought that God didn't exit- I think I have always felt his presence. Rather I held no conversation with God for most of my highschool years and was a sinner.

This was the case until several months ago, when I was driving a car underneath some construction and a cross beam fell off and hit the front of my car proceeding to cause me to crash into a wall. I was not harmed except for a few scratches and bruises and when I got out of the car immediately following the accident the first thing I saw was the metal beam, in the shape of a cross, impaled into the front of my car. At this point it the existence for God became undeniable for me- I realized God had deliberately sent me a message: watch out. I had too long been ignoring the overwhelming evidence for his existence and influence, and soon after I was saved.

At first I wondered why God didn't just smite me like the Godless Fool I otherwise was. After careful deliberation I realized that God, in his all knowing wisdom, had known I was not in my heart a sinner, but rather that my parents had kept me from becoming a True Christian, and by the Grace of God, The Almighty kept me alive so that I might do his bidding and save more souls, and that I myself might receive a second chance at salvation in doing so.

While I am now saved, I know that my quest must not end here. This is partially why I have joined this forum, I am looking for answers in how to save others as much as I can. As it stands within my living family only my grandparents(Godbless God Fearing Iowan Farmers) and I will rejoice in heaven- my three siblings and parents have not been saved. I have tried in vain thus far to save them, however they will not listen to what has been right infront of them (and me) all their lives so I wish for your advice.

I look forward to seeking this and other answers, as well as to helping others find answers in these forums. It is so refreshing to see so many so many people who fear the devil, who are real republicans, and of course True Christians. I cannot wait to hear what you all have to say !

So I will leave you with one (for there are so many amazing quotes !!!) of my favorite quotes from the bible.

God Bless and I will think of those on this forum in my prayers!

    Matthew 7:21-23

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'
    Hi Greg

Nice to meet you. I know that Church, they have an interim Pastor at the moment don't they, Jack Tillman. He's certainly been around a bit but he will serve you well until you find a new one.

I'm just a bit concerned - I know Pastor Jack is a strict follower of the King James Bible (as you correctly pointed out the Faith Baptist Church is as well) - so why is your 'favourite Bible verse' from the English Standard Version?.

    All the best
