The under 18 policy is because christianity is an adult subject. We don't want anyone here to have made a commitment to Jesus when they can't even shave. Do you really think a person under 18 can make an informed decision on what religion they will have and who will be their saviour for the rest of their lives?
Children under 18 have a tendency to "accept Jesus" because they are brought up in an household that goes to church every sunday and the child "accepts Jesus" not because they believe it to be true, but as a way to get approval from authority figures.
Deuteronomy 1:39 sets the "age of accountability" at 20.
39 Moreover your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, and your children, which in that day had no knowledge between good and evil, they shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess it.
To me, if you aren't mature enough to vote, you aren't mature enough to be a christian. If I had my way, If you couldn't drink legally, you couldn't be a christian.
