Re: Christianity is a lie and a scam

Clearly this fellow acts a lot like Nietszche, which is to say: proud, rebellious, unrepentant, lascivious, homer, Greek Euro trash worshipping, anti-American, anti-God, anal-sex loving queer!

Nietzsche said God is dead, and now God is laughing at him as he gets his anus intruded with a flaming iron of Satan for an eternity, so who is clever now, Mr. I-Worship-Satan-Because-I-Hate-God?

Darwin, Mohammad, Nietzsche, Aristotle, Copernicus and all other liars are roasting in hell now, son. Is this the path you want to go down?

The phrase "as a god" is what is called a "simile". It is a figure of speech used to compare two different things.

I could say, "That halogen lamp is as bright as the sun!"

Does that mean that I think the lamp is the sun? Of course not. I'm comparing it to the sun, and saying it is similarly bright.

I could say, "You are as dull as a butterknife!"

Does that mean I think you are a butterknife? Of course not, Dullard. I'm comparing you to a butterknife, and saying you are similarly dull.

So when our new friend Christianzionist says that atheists worship Neitzche "as a god", he doesn't mean they think that a depressed invalid and drunkard was a god. It means that they exalt him in their own minds, and put him in the position a normal person would leave for God (or a false god, if one were Muslim or Hindu or whatever). They worship him, as a normal person would worship God.

Understand now, Dullard? Or do I need smaller words and shorter sentences?
I guess I'm old enough to be able to admit I was wrong.

You are quite right. I mistook a simile for a direct reference.

Thanks for pulling me up (even if it was a bit patronising). It is nice not to get bashed over the head with scripture for a change, though.

Most people here stick to using the bible of back up every single point they make and it is good to know that you are flying the flag for moderate, liberal people of faith.

Kudos to you sir, you make Christianity a far more palitable religion for an outsider looking in.

And I can admit I made a typo: Nietzsche

I have never been so insulted in my life.

I am in no way "moderate" or politically/morally "liberal". Being civil and commenting without using Scripture (as it was not relevant in that situation, the Bible not being a guide to grammar) makes me neither.

Why exactly would True Christians™ rely upon anything other than the Bible when explaining a True Christian™ position on a matter of faith, morality, or anything else of import? Should they instead choose their "feelings" over God's Word? Discard the Bible because they don't like it?

Then they'd not be Christians, would they?

No. They'd be creating their own god, one that happens to believe everything they believe. One they can see every time they look in the mirror.

Are all so-called "Brights" as unimaginably dull-witted as you? Was the name chosen to be ironic?
        Bible boring? Nonsense!

You can't be a Christian if you don't know God's Word!
