Let me guess, you next will tell us you think that the Biblical commandments to execute homosexuals (like Elton John and Ellen Degeneres), adulterers (like Newt Gingrich and Herman Cain), and witches or those with familiar spirits (like John Edwards and Sylvia Browne) are just "metaphorical", right?

I never said i wanted to "twist" words, nor am i looking for people to do that for me.
And I never said that nor do I believe it. If it is written in a commandment there is no metaphor to follow - that's why they're commandments.

There are no major gypsy parties in Britain - the only places with Gypsies as a national party are places like Germany, Egypt, Iran and other places East of the UK. Second note, gypsies are a dying breed and will eventually be abolished with the current changes on benefits. Gypsies love money so they will snatch up these opportunities and continue living in society - extracting them from a "gypsy" by definition.
    I have two houses.
One in England and one in Portugal.
    I'm not a gypsy.
Americans came from Europeans when it was first colonised, meaning YOU are a descendant of a European. Christianity came from Europe (mainly Eastern) which is within gypsy territory. So dont call me a Godless gypsy - I have a home and a life and I'm more closer to God than you could ever be.

And dont bother with your pathetic Infraction warnings - "sassing" is what picky mothers say to their children.
Warning will bring you no lease from me.
    Hello YoungWonderer

I'm glad to see you're not a gypsy even though you don't seem to be happy living in one place. How do you think the best way to abolish gypsies would be, I'm sure it would be very difficult - several people have already tried with varying degrees of success.

Then you'd know that in the book of Jonah, it's not a whale that ate him at all, but a great fish. It's only when Jesus refers to that story in Matthew 12:40 that the story becomes about a guy named Jonas, not Jonah, and it's now a whale instead of a great fish.

Just shows how perfect and not full of errors the Bible is.
Indeed ^^ Very well, I shall begin reading

Why do you doubt this is the meaning?
    Matthew 10:34-39
34Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 36And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

37He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. 39He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Matthew 10 just underlines the same message.

51Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: 52For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. 53The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
What's the need for interpretation with wonders like these?

Oh, and hi, young fellow. Have you read the Bible yet?

There are two great resources in my signature: The "Bible in a Year" is a section of this very forum, where Landoverians can help you as you read and discuss the Bible. "Real Bible Stories" shares stories from the Bible, as they're written (not embellished), with a wonderful and enlightening Sunday School discussion where all the "tough questions" are addressed.

I just noticed earlier this week that the authoress is just a few chapters short of finishing the story of Joseph!

Ive never read the full Bible, but I was told many wonderful Bible stories as a child - my favourite was always Jonah and the Whale

I myself am not a full Christian, as my upbringing was of "The Liberal Minded" as my family calls it - and I am sorry to say that I have no wish of abandoning my current life.
I DO however, want to change the way I perceive life by means of a strong, well moral-ed religion.

I am currently a clean slate, open for new ideas of the Lord's and our Saviour Jesus Christ's teaching.
