I am here to learn more about Christianity. I am, however, an Athiest. I do not intend to believe what you preach, but I would like to understand it better. I hope you do not ban me for simply being a non believer and actually allow me to browse and contribute to these forums.

I just read some of your other posts. For someone looking to "understand" and "contribute", you've spent most of your time so far insulting and persecuting us. We don't ban people for being unsaved scum, but we do ban folk who do nothing but cause trouble. Be good, listen, learn, and you will be okay, but you'd better start changing your mean ways.

If you don't intend on believing what is taught on God's favorite forum, then how can you fully comprehend the gifts that these upstanding people are trying to give to you? And the Nietzsche quote somehow implies that us religious folk are dirty or something. Do you believe there is truth to that statement?

Sometimes we have to resort to some tough love for Jesus, but that's not the same as barging onto a board, throwing around insults, then saying one just wants to "understand" and begging not to be banned.

Well the first thing you should learn is that Christians hang out with the Lord in Heaven, while non-Christians get reamed in the behind by Satan in Hell.

I doubt it. You misspelled "atheist" for cryin' out loud! You are far more likely a Cathylick Satanist Mooslim Homersexual.

Considering that you already revealed your preference for sodomy, I'm sure you will perfectly comfortable with the thought of Satan's enormous rod going deep sea fishing in your behind. If only you knew the joy that is Christ! There is still time for you to repent, although I doubt you would ever give up your homer ways.

Here we have a poor soul coming to us for Truth. A person parched for prayer, though he know it not.

So what do True Christians really believe, underneath the namby-pamby Billy Christian love-thy-neighbor?

1. We believe that Christians are better than everyone else. That's 'cos Christians know God's Truth, and everyone else doesn't. Truth is better than error; Christians are better than everyone else.

2. We Christians are the Light of the World. The Bible promises that in the end the Saved shall have dominion over everything and everyone; until that time Christians are supposed to preach the Gospel to every living thing. And convert 'em to the True Faith if possible.

3. Christians know that God torments people horribly. He not only did it historically (since we believe the Bible word-for-word) but He had His own Son tortured and then killed using a particularly unpleasant method of execution. But, even though we know God is a torturer, we LOVE HIM! And we assert that all mankind should love God even if He is going to torture most of them forever in Hell.

(This is not the same kind of thing as Max Mosley, head of the International Automobile Federation, was caught doing. That was with prostitutes and whips, and we're talking about the Lord God here.)

4. We know that the law of the Christian God is the supreme Law of the Universe, and applies to all mankind, not just Christians. AND THAT MEANS GAYS ARE AN ABOMINATION! Also, those who proselytize for false gods should be executed. And eating shellfish is right out! As is cutting wood on a Sunday. And we believe that we have the duty to impose God's Law on everyone else.

Geez. Anything else in the core belief-set?

Oh yeah! The attributes of the Lord!

First, God is unknowable.

Second, we know for sure that He is perfect, omniscient, omnipotent, eternal, benevolent, and looks like a man, but probably bigger (He made man in His image). However, despite His eternal wisdom He decided He'd made a mistake inventing mankind, decided to drown 'em all like rats in a barrel, but then thought again (which proves He has the superpower of omniscience) and saved Noah and his sons. So that proves his absolute infallibility.

Also, because He is perfect and good we can assume that leprosy, schistosomiasis, and bilharzia are God's tools for working some benevolent end. It is a tenet of Christian belief that mankind is just too abysmally stupid to understand why these horrible diseases are good.

Incidentally, if you challenge most Christians on things like this they will laugh heartily and say, "Oh I'm sure God's Plan is all for the best! Perhaps the fact that 3 million children die in agony will cause someone to have a change of heart and accept Christ!" (I'm not making this up. I have read this response, or variations on it, many times. PRAISE GOD, His people are strong in FAITH!)

That's some solid preaching Brother Jack. I might add that the good Lord left behind an owners manual that is chock full of information on how all this works – it's called the Bible (KJV1611). It's really all you need to get you to where you need to be going.
