If you are not reading a King James Bible, don't bother. And even among many of the KJVs in circulation, you have to watch out for adulterated versions (e.g., NKJV, the 1769 version, etc.). The most readily available version of the King James Authorized Version ©1611, Pure Cambridge Edition, is available for free download at my colleague's website. There are even instructions on how to bind it yourself and build a Bible Study reading stand.

Since I doubt you fellowship among any True Christians™, this is the best place I know for you to obtain a KJV 1611 without having to worry about translational distortions from satan's willing thralls in the world of secular publishing.

So far, I have been truthful, given what was asked.

Oh, and of course, police don't learn on the job, they learn at the police academy.

Is there anything you've said that's actually true? Are you, for example, actually making dinner?

Oh, so you have trouble sleeping?
She never knew I was an atheist, never had the heart to tell her.

I do have trouble sleeping, yes.

But I am eating some food now, preparing to go to work.

As a cop, I work different hours. Some days, I work from morning to evening. other times from evening to morning. Other times, well.... it is always different.

As a cop in training, they pretty much call on me whenever.

No, what I meant now, is I am willing to keep an open mind. I am willing to really start reading the bible again.

I removed it a few years ago, when I had to make room for Ayn Rands: The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged.

I dont think that is a bad idea.

Could you show me the parts of the Bible speaking of tolerance?

Jesus forgiving a woman's sins and ordering her to "go, and sin no more" (note: not "go, and return to your adulteries" or "go, and only do certain lesser sins" but "sin NO MORE") isn't "tolerance". It's Jesus exercising His right to choose to make a positive example of someone.
