    Howdy, all

Hey there. Found this site while browsing and I thought I'd join and say hello.

I'm a California girl, eighteen, haven't completely read the bible through yet, but I'm getting there. I don't go to church anymore, because both my mother and I have arthritis and we can't go anywhere without it hurting like the dickens. That's not to say we don't believe in God any less, though.

In addition to that, I also have clinical depression, and find myself wondering if there really is a heaven, or if this is the only life we get. My friends from Steam and TF2 have all been very supportive; I can only hope that the friends I make on here will be supportive too.

Counting down the days to Halloween, my favorite holiday next to Christmas. I'm a big fan of horror films and the like! I might dress up as the Engineer, my favorite character from Team Fortress 2. What are your plans?

    Nice to meet you all!

What church did you go to, what is your favourite Bible verse and when did you start your walk with Christ?

    YIC
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Well, if you believe in God, why don't you pray for healing of your arthritis...

So, you believe in God, you just don't listen to what He tells you?

And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean
      Leviticus 10:10

Oh, I see. You believe God exists, but just don't much care to honor or glorify Him, opting instead to mock and taunt Him and spit in the face of the Sweet, Innocent Baby Jesus.

Thank you. Might I suggest with all due respect, stop playing these demonic games and spend your time reading God's Love Letter to You (the Holy Bible). Don't just gloss over the familiar stories, carefully read all of it, every story, every lesson, every law, every warning. There is no more important thing you can do.

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

No wonder you are so depressed, you celebrate Satan.

You need to get to a Baptist Church, get prostrate for the Pastor and have him help you with being Gods BFF.

Read your Bible. Stop all this other folly. It is an utter waste of time. Gods way or the highway.

What the heck is a Cuchamonga? Is that some sort of beaner dance?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

I'm sorry, are you saying that God did this to me on purpose, or that I was asking for it? oxo; I'm not blaming, I'm just curious if that's what you really believe.

            Re: Howdy, all

Welcome! You've come to the right place for Godly support

Halloween is Satans holiday, so basically, not cool announcing that

Furthermore, skipping church, if in doing so hinders your walk with God, just because your in pain is oxymormonic when you consider how painful hell will be. Not judging, just wanted to share that with you...

Admitting to not having read the entire Bible, I am not surprised one bit you are depressed, I would be too without my personal relationship with God. He can restore your brain to sanity and clarity if you put all your trust and faith in him...

How can you sleep soundly at night watching horror movies? I would be so frightened seeing worldly images that I couldn't sleep. You sharing your taste in un-Godly movies is very revealing of your state of mind and where you stand with Jesus...

Welcome, just wanted to wish you a warm welcome- hope you find what you are looking for and I pray that would be Jesus.

              Both.
Friend, my opinions mean nothing. What matters is what God's expectations are. See, God had every possible occurence figured out with the best solution. He had His disciples record it all with simple examples in the KJV Bible.
So you told us of your tales of 'poor me'. We told you why and what to do about it.
Give yourself to Jesus or suffer forever. Pretty simple.

                God is all-knowing and all-powerful.

He knows you are suffering, and is easily able to end your suffering. It's no skin off His nose, so to speak.

                He does not do so.

That means either He has chosen to inflict the suffering, or has chosen not to remove the suffering.

Why do you suppose that is?

I can't remember the name of our church; I have a terrible memory. But my favorite verse would have to be Proverbs 31:10-31. Before that, I never knew that the bible had such beautiful poetry. <3 And I've always been christian.

From where do you get your opinion, dear? Surely not the Holy Bible.

Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
                      James 5:14-15

You see, the LORD wants to Bless His Own.

And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and theirs offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.
                      Isaiah 61:9

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
                      Romans 8:17

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
                      Philippians 4:19

But for the LORD to Bless you, you have to be one of His Own.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
                      John 15:5

This leaves one of three possibilities.

                      A) You don't actually love God

                      2) You don't actually trust God

                      3) God has not called you with an holy calling. (2nd Timothy 1:9)

The opinion you respect is not mine, but God's. I have no opinion of my own. I am but an empty vessel for the LORD to use: Jesus with skin on.

I never said he was a liar, where did that come from? I merely ask for strength to help get me through this dark time in my life. I suppose you could argue that He hasn't taken away my depression because He's testing me, not because He hates me or something else so foolish to assume. Surely you've all felt there are times where He's given you obstacles to overcome, too?

Ahhh, so what you're saying is that it's my fault the depression hasn't miraculously gone away. Just checking, I wasn't sure for a minute.

Are you suggesting God is incapable of curing you?

No; like one of the other posters said, He is easily capable of curing me. But if He doesn't, like I already said, there's a reason for it. It could be that I'm not trying hard enough to be one of God's own, but it could also be a test of my faith, and whether I'll stop believing in Him or not because He's chosen not to cure me.

I'm so sorry. The liberalism and lesbianism and public orgies and inappropriate art of Californication are a truly horrible thing. I truly hope you don't fall in with those that partake in such things.

Arthritis? At your age? Odd. Are you sure you are telling us the truth? If so, prayers and partaking of Landover's interweb worship telecast would be perfect--following a nice tithe, of course.

My dear, "depression" is just a worldly person's way of saying: "I suck and am a loser and am all about me, and I don't want to get out and do anything like help others or worship God!"

Depression is nothing. The condition was essentially made up by liberal Jooi$h doctors. If you quit thinking about yourself and try, you'll feel better. Read the KJV Bible for a start!

So you are an agnostic? You don't really know what you believe? You're just wandering through life aimlessly?

                              We have to change that!

                              Why, of course we will...

That's terrible! Halloween is Satan's birthday! It is our practice to renounce that "helliday" and all likeness to it!
