    Hello from Cathy

Thank you for the kind words, Reverend Rodimer and James Hutchins! As requested, I'm introducing myself to the forum at large. My name is Cathy Bieber (no relation to Justin Bieber). Please call me Cathy.

I was raised in a Christian family in the heart of the country. I was Born Again and baptized when I was 9 years old (and again when I was 16). I was raised to be a wife and mother but God has not provided me with a suitable husband yet. After school I continued to be a stay-at-home daughter, taking care of my elderly father. My mother has gone to be with Jesus almost 20 years now, and my father went to be with her 4 years ago this December. I am currently employed at a small but devout Baptist Elementary School. It is the school I graduated from myself, and have belonged to the church since I was a baby. I sing in the choir, which is comprised of me (I play the tambourine), and two other ladies. We may not sing like a Gospel Choir, but we do make a joyful noise unto the Lord! (Psalms 98:4)

My all time favorite Bible story is the story of Jacob's wives and how they sought to please him (Genesis 29:31-30:24). It's my favorite because it shows that God can redeem even the deepest loneliness if one has faith. It shows the blessings people bring when they are obedient and trust God (like a slave not refusing the order to be impregnated by her master, and subsequently give birth to a child she will never know as her own son). It shows how many women, working together, gave to Jacob his 12 sons, the 12 Tribes of Israel.

12 is a very important number Biblically, and one that always brings me great comfort:
    • Twelve pillars were erected at Mt. Sinai (Exodus 24:4)
    • Twelve pillars were erected in the Promised Land (Joshua 4:1-9)
    • Twelve statues of oxen held up the water basin in Solomon’s Temple (1Kings 7:25)
    • Twelve men were selected by God to conduct the census of the tribes (Numbers 1:2-16)
    • Twelve princes of Israel brought gifts to the Sanctuary on twelve days (Numbers 7:10-83)
    • Twelve spies sent to reconnoiter Canaan (Numbers 13:1-16)
    • Jesus is twelve years old when He questions the scholars in the Temple (Luke 2:41)
    • Twelve legions of angles (Matthew 26:53)
    • Twelve Apostles (Matthew 10:2-4; Mark 3:13-19; Luke 6:13)
    • 144,000 servants of God (12 times 12) (Revelation 7:4)
    • Twelve gates of the New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:12)
    • Twelve foundations of the New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:16-17)
    • The Trees of Life in the new creation will bear twelve kinds of fruits (Revelation 22:2)

"The guilt burdened soul cries out for the lashes and nails of justice. Your child cannot yet understand that the Creator has been lashed and nailed in his place. Only the rod of correction can preserve his soul until the day of moral dawning."

    Hello Cathy,

I'm curious why you make an effort to quote the words of my people, but seem to entertain the concept of a Jesus.

Yes, there is a Mashiach to come, but he cannot be the "Christ" you speak of. Hilarious stuff.

    Shalom.
Acts 14:2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.

Will you think it so funny when God is burning you alive for all time in His Lake of Fire?

So you accept the books of Matthew, Luke and Revelation into your Jewish canon, do you?

I hope this is the signal of better things to come for you. If you accept Christ into your life and pray for a miracle, Jesus may choose to repair the ritual wounding you suffered at the hands of the mohel.

        Peace be with you.

Does this sound like hell to you?

And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites

          Shalom, my friend.

Not at all. But Israel sure doesn't sound like a land flowing with milk and honey anymore, unless "milk" means "rocket grenades" and "honey" means "endless desert sands".

Jews don't go to Israel after death. They just wish they were dead when they go there.

Cathy, it is great to meet someone so open and so humble. I spent some time looking through this forum and found so many people who just come to be mean and to ridicule and to express hate. Yet, you come and show such love for the Lord Jesus, and you seem so excited to serve Him. I also enjoy singing and making music that glorifies God and I play the piano.
              Refreshing to meet you!

Hi. I quote the words of the Holy Bible, the Old Testament, before the Coming of Christ. According to the Bible, Jesus did not come to destroy the Law from the Old Testament. He came to fulfil it (Matthew 5:17).

I believe that but I don't celebrate Jewish holidays like some confused Christians do.

Thank you, Irinka! It's nice to know you, too! Do you play in your church's choir? I wish I could play piano. I studied for a few years, but never could get the hang of it. Now I spend my time reading and studying the Bible. I'm glad to have found a place that knows how important that is.

You can sing and make music all you want as a mean to obscure your insecurity. But let me tell you that butt kissing JESUS through a pretentious modesty doesn't make you right in the eye of the Lord.

Yes, I do play the piano with the church's choir. I also play for street evangelism praise and worship sessions that we sometimes engage in. Keep on plugging along for His glory!

You can sing and make music all you want as a mean to obscure your insecurity. But let me tell you that butt kissing JESUS through a pretentious modesty doesn't make you right in the eye of the Lord.

Matthew 23:14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
I am sorry to see you in such a foul mood tonight. Perhaps, you will feel better tomorrow? In the mean time, the only thing that can possibly make me right in the eyes of God is being washed with the blood of Jesus. It is only by His name and through His blamelessness and righteousness that we can be saved and our sins atoned for. Glory to His Name!

Wow, street evangelism sounds fun! We don't have anything like that where I live. It's a fairly small community. I've heard of some churches putting on a "Hell House" for Halloween. Kids get to walk through what looks like a regular Spooky House, but instead they see actors acting out little plays that show just how fragile life is and how quickly you could be facing either Jesus or Satan. I encourage my students at school to always think ahead like that, to recognize that in the snap of a finger, their life on this earth could be over. They should always be thinking and preparing. It's not street evangelism, but I do what I can.
