What gets me is how people can actually believe that the creator of the universe would choose for a messenger someone who couldn't (because he was illiterate, as in Mohammed's case) or just plain didn't bother to write down anything him/herself, so we end up relying on other's questionable memories for any information at all. Then all these scraps and fragments of questionable veracity and provenance are compiled at a later time by still other shadowy figures whose motivations we have little or no information about.

Are they stupid or just gullible?
