Hey everyone I am new to this forum. I'll start by telling you a little about my self. I still consider myself Christian even though it has been years since I have worshiped God in a church. Yet I still do my best to worship and please God in everything I do. I do sometimes find myself speaking to God less and less from time to time however. My relation ship with God is what you could call casual. I came on to this website in hopes of sharing my wisdom with you, as well as yours with me.

When did you start your walk with Christ?
YIC1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

The only wisdom you need is that which is found in the Holy Bible (KJV 1611).Originally posted by Arkbound View PostHey everyone I am new to this forum. 1 Corinthians 2:6
Howbeit wee speake wisedome among them that are perfect: yet not the wisedome of this worlde, nor of the Princes of this worlde, that come to nought
Seek wisdom in the Word of God not yourself.Isaiah 66:15
For behold, the Lord wil come with fire, and with his charets like a whirlewinde, to render his anger with furie, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

Re: Hello
Welcome Arkin!
I am not sure how you can be a 'casual Christian'. That is a new one to me. Does it mean you only are a Christian when it is convenient? Or when God gives you the better things in life? Or is it you take advantage of Jesuses benevolence when no one is looking?Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Re: Hello
It means im a christian when I remember that I need God, or just when I remember to speak to him. I know it's not an ideal relationship with God, and I am doing what I can to furthur push myself to the point of being a true christian. Also im a man thank you very much.Originally posted by James Hutchins View PostWelcome Arkin!

Re: Hello
What is your favorite bible verse? Please explain what you're doing to get closer to the Lord. "doing what I can" is an exercise in excuse management. Do you have a copy of the KJV with you at all times? Do you sleep with one?Originally posted by Arkbound View PostIt means im a christian when I remember that I need God, or just when I remember to speak to him. Re: Hello
Isaiah 2:4, "And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." This is my favorite verse, because it gives me hope knowing that one day, this sin filled world will one say become pure again, as it once was. Doing what I can is an excuse, I'm not trying to pass my self of has a perfect christian, please understand that. I do not sleep with a bible in my hand, but I do sleep next to one in my night stand.

My dear, no one is a perfect Christian, for only the Lord can be perfect. We strive to be True Christians. And is it A Bible, or THE Bible (KJV)???Originally posted by Arkbound View PostIsaiah 2:4, "And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." Then you are on the right path. Read it cover to cover, then read it again. It is the way, the Word and the light.Originally posted by Arkbound View PostYes it is the KJV, it was a gift from the pastor at my school when I graduated two years ago.Recovering Catholic.

Well Arkin, I thought you were probably a man,. There really ought to be one other possibility, so I took a chance. Chalk up another win for me!Originally posted by Arkbound View PostIt means im a christian when I remember that I need God, or just when I remember to speak to him. I hope for your sake, when Judgment Day® comes, God will let you slide, that the days you spent blowing Him off, He was busy elsewhere dealing with terrorists and prostitutes and the only time He spent checking up on you were the few and far between days you gave Him oral lip service.
Friend, loving God is not a part time job with major benefits. You get back from God what you give Him. As it stands now, Jesus will let you see Heaven before He casts you into the fires of Hell, all while telling you "I'll get back to you next week...."
