  • How does one actually repent?

Many people here have told me I need to repent, but no one actually says how. I checked all the guides on the website, but everything leads back to telling me to repent, but at no point does anyone say how.

I'm really trying to do this right and worship Jesus, but no one is explicitly saying what steps to follow or path to take to repent.

I guess step one would involve looking it up in the dictionary.

No. I will proceed anyway as a Pastor of God must needs teach. Repentance has 4 steps...

            1. REGRET 2. RESOLVE 3. REFORMATION 4. RESTITUTION

These can be seen in the life of Josiah, King of Judah.

REGRET: Josiah finds the Bible and has his scribe read it to him and he learns he and his people have not been walking uprightly. (2 Kings 22:1-13)

RESOLVE: Josiah declares to all the people that change must be made and the Bible must be followed. (2 Kings 23:1-3)

REFORMATION: Josiah puts into practice the eradication of unrighteousness, which included the cutting down of groves and tearings down of idols, and murdering of homosexuals and priests of other religions and burning their bones to powder, and many other great things. (2 Kings 23:4-20)

RESTITUTION: Josiah restored the sacrifice as required at the time. (2 Kings 23:21-25)

Please reflect on these verses, pray, and learn.

            In His Grace,

            Pastor Ed
