Re: New guy, Christian as of this year ... but I have a lot of questions to ask

I'm in a hurry but since my wife is late I'll reply quickly to the comments in order of whom replied.

      Towards Eustace Jones:
It clearly says that my mother left and I was raised alone by my father. If you're curious, all we did was fight, physically. He choked me a lot, and all he wanted me to do was be his slave. Nothing like 'Biblical' punishments, he just beat the poop out of me. I ended up having to use my Martial Arts eventually on him, which he then stopped beating me. He eventually kicked me out when I was 18 when I was about to finish my High School Final Exams. I only have lived with my mother 2 years, so no I am not a "prancing little pink shirted boy who likes other men" as you called me. I have a wife, I practice Martial Arts, I've been in fights my whole life if you read my whole story you would know there is no way I am a homosexual. I say towards you Eustace Jones one thing, Matthew 7:1-2 . So please Brother Eustace, don't judge me based on a false pretense unless you wish to be judged as well on a false pretense. I say it was a false pretense you judged me on, because you said I was raised solely by my mother, which is false. She is never around anyways, and I only lived with her since I was 18. I still love you as a Brother and forgive you for your misunderstanding, but your quick pre-judgement worries me.

      Towards James Hutchins:
I disagree with your claim that I'm mouthy, I've been constantly attacked however since I started posting on this website. I have shown everyone the same respect I would like in return. One person however has been very respectful towards me, and his name is Dr.Laurence Niles, for we had a misunderstanding, and yet we talked it out. I also pray for him that his nephew finds the right path. So please explain how I'm mouthy, because I honestly do not comprehend how that statement of me being mouthy makes sense.
Towards your comment that God is imperfect, I never said that. Please don't put words in my mouth. God is perfect, so is his son Jesus Christ, our savior. All I'm saying is humans, us, are imperfect beings. We were made in God's image, but we are not and never will be as close to or as Holy as God. We aren't born perfect, we have to try our best to be as perfect as possible. The quotes within the comment you replied to prove it too, let me re-quote it for you Matthew 5:47-48 <-- that establishes that our Father in Heaven is perfect, and Jesus is telling us to try to be more like him. Also, the same quote from the Holy Bible establishes that we have to Try to become perfect. It doesn't say "God only allows us to be so perfect" it says "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in Heaven is perfect." That means we have to actually work and learn to become as close to as perfect as God as we possible can. I hope that cleared things up for you Brother.

      Towards Didyumus:
Since you are very well versed in the Bible I'm sure you know about turning the other cheek. I don't have time to argue with you. If that is what you believe then that is what you believe. I won't try to force you to change your mind, you are a grown man. However, I do disagree with you, and I will check out the link when I get home. However, I am busy Brother.

I love you all as Brothers who I have responded too. Please don't misunderstand me, and I will do my best to not misunderstand you. God bless, and enjoy the Sabbath Day that shall be starting very soon.

      -David

I forget who it is but I remember a story in the Holy Bible about a great hunter for The LORD, and someone who just planted plants or something and he tricked the hunter when he was hungry to be under him or something. I thought that meant it was okay for me to practice Martial Arts. I do not wish to inflict any pain on anyone like Jesus said, and as well I primarily use it to protect others, not myself unless I absolutely have to.

Welcome friend. I don't know that martial arts are sinful, but they aren't anything a real Christian man would fool with. Wearing nothing but a loose robe and a sissy-colored belt is asking for trouble. I imagine in the moves you make that genitals are often exposed? And there is is substantial man on man contact?

With the homosexual agenda constantly pushing for everyone to choose to be queer, martial arts seem dangerous. What if a young man is on the fence between remaining normal or opting for gayness, and finds he is aroused by constant contact with man meat?

Safer all around to simply learn to throw a good hook with the fists.

              In Christ

Matthew 19:14 "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

                King James Version (KJV)

12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

YOU SHOULD BE THANKING YOUR FATHER FOR KEEPING YOU IN LINE! The fact you disrespect him so saddens me. Do you not remember the ten commandments?

I also know how few people actually understand what "turn the other cheek" really means. If you follow this link, you'll find the verse in question (Matthew 5:39) as it appears in 20 of the most common Bibles in use today. Notice how they ALL specify that someone's hitting your RIGHT cheek. Curious (or telling?), as there is very little else they agree on.

Back then, only the right hand was used for touching others. The left (as is still common in many countries) was used for toilet purposes. If I was to strike you on the right cheek using my right hand, it would have to be a backhand strike. This was the disciplinary method used on slaves and servants, and showed the the striker considered the other to be below them, socially.

By only presenting the left cheek as a target, you would force me to use a forehand strike, with the concomitant acknowledgement of you as my social equal.

Thus, we see that the "turn the other cheek" passage is NOT an instruction to yield unconditionally to any aggressor (as it has been portrayed by many, who either do not understand, or consciously wish to misrepresent, the message of the Bible), but instead is a passive-aggressive way of forcing them to treat you as an equal.

...If that is what you believe then that is what you believe. I won't try to force you to change your mind, you are a grown man. However, I do disagree with you...
Then you disagree with the Bible.

                  ...I am busy Brother...
I'm not your brother (capitalized or not). Did you miss the "Arrogant Atheist Dick" label these nice people gave me?
