  • Pardon the name!

I'm not a very religious type of person, to be honest. I was raised as Roman catholic but never really found that as my "true" religion. As for my favorite bible verse; I don't have one. I really only enjoy the book of job, as I think it's interesting how far some people will go to keep their faith in god. As for finding Jesus; I haven't. I don't feel that I should worship the son of god when I could just worship god himself. However; I don't worship under any "established" religion, as I prefer to be an agnostic and worship god in my own way.

Anyway, I look forward to any discussion upon these topics; so long as they aren't spiteful and full of hate!

Hey, I believe so too. Glad to meet you on these forums!
Something I'd like to add to my previous post: I believe that creationism and evolution are two very real things. In my view, god created the universe( by the Big Bang) and created all galaxy's, solar systems, and planet's that exist through out it. When he created earth he allowed it to change and evolve within itself. He created the tiniest of microscopic organism's and left those to do what they will. Thus they evolved, as did the planet, to create the different era's in earth's past, as well as, the earth we have today. Just my two cents.

that's interesting, most christers follow a dogmatic approach outlined in an ancient text. if god spoke to us once, why did he stop, and if he never spoke to us, yet still exists, he likely doesn't care about us. if the system works without god, why include him in it? until someone can show where god is required, i'm going with the universe did it.

An interesting thought, indeed. I have the faith to believe that he's still watching us with a benevolent eye. I do believe that both Christianity and secular science can go hand in hand (as odd as that sounds).

That doesn't sound odd, dear, it sounds utterly foolish. Not only does faith and secular so-called science (the kind that promotes the evolution lie) NOT go hand in hand, the Word of God warns against such dangers.

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.
            I Timothy 6:20-21

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! Mhmm, indeed it does. My apologies. I must ask, as a man who has a B.S. in Marine biology; is all science false? If so I feel as though I have been a fool.

i'm not sure if i can agree with you there, man. perhaps one small enclave can be accommodating so long as there is a breezy attitude about it, but things don't usually work out. disparate thoughts will always be at odds

believing in a god that watches us isn't very agnostic. not trying to front on you bro, but why do you think that?

God is a very broad term; as is agnosticism. You can be agnostic and still believe in god; as agnosticism is not being a part of any set religion and trying to understand whether there is a higher power or not. Just because I believe that evolution and creationism co-exist and god created the universe( or the big bang created him, which ever) doesn't mean I'm not an agnostic. No hard feelings!

I thought this was the Landover Baptist site.

I must have been kidnapped over to a satanic game playing site.

I am here to learn. I am telling you about my background so you can tell where best to start. If I am banished to eternal damnation and cannot be saved then so be it. However, as I previously stated, I'd like to learn through the Landover Baptist Church on how to save myself.

                        word,

agnostic simply means that god is unknowable, its not really a blanket term. i think you more fit unitarian, or non denom. both are perfectly alright, but whenever you start talking about intervention by a god, that's when you stop being agnostic, and start being religious.

not knowing is cool, i don't know, dont see a reason why i would need to

                            "Non-denom" would fit what?

You don't save yourself, son. No man can save himself. All men have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). This means you are a sinner in the eyes of an angry God, Who must punish all sin, because that's the Righteous thing to do. Do you doubt you are a sinner?
