Re: Hello All
I was 14, and was "putting on the show" and attempting to act like my Christian friends. I had been doing this for about 3 months, and Revival came to my church. His name was (I can't remember exactly) William Blackaby or Blackburn and he spoke on the parable of the Wheat And the Tears. And Jesus spoke to me through that message of when Harvest time would come, the Farmer (Jesus) would know what was ripe for the picking. I was completely broken, and have been following Him ever since.Originally posted by Scott Cole View PostHi Indigo,

My favorite Scripture that is a tough one to narrow down --- if I had to pick one I think I would choose Hebrews 12:1-2 -- "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Re: Hello All
Brother, I can see that your heart is in the right place and I know you want to get right with Jesus, but the way is fraught with peril. I can only assume you got that replica of a Bible verse from some book that, while similar to the Bible and God's Word, is not a King James Version, which is the only reliable rendition of the Word of Almighty God.
Friend, you have not been attending a Christian congregation and I believe the Lord has reached out and led you here, that you may be saved.
Shout Hallelujah!
The first thing you should do is to get a proper Bible and read it as you search for a Christian Church. Try the Baptist Church in your area, but take care to know that it is a real Baptist Church and not one of the imitations. You have already been fooled once, don't let that happen again.
Stay in contact here. We are filled with good information. Contact a Pastor on this site if you need additional guidance.
God Bless and welcome, Brother.God judgeth the righteous, And God is angry with the wicked every day- Psalm 7:11

You are allowed to post in the forums, however, the introduction forum is the only forum you can start threads in until the DoF clears you.Originally posted by IndigoMontoya View PostI do have many ?'s, which is why I came here. Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Re: Hello All
I have been speaking with a Father who is wanting to turn away from his faith because his child is not saved (and is 20ish) and they are living the impure life. He says that if he is unable to be in Heaven with his child, then he will just go to Hell with them.Originally posted by Mary Etheldreda View PostWhat is your question, dear? What is/would be good Scripture to help guide this man?

Re: Hello All
I would start with John 3:18.Originally posted by IndigoMontoya View PostI have been speaking with a Father who is wanting to turn away from his faith because his child is not saved (and is 20ish) and they are living the impure life. Your friend doesn't believe in Christ and His Work on the Cross. Your friend is hedging his bets, hoping that acknowledging Jesus is real will be enough to earn him a pass for his sins.
In other words, your friend isn't Saved anyway, and will join his heathen son in the fiery pits of Hell unless he repents and accepts Christ as his Savior, not his Free Pass.

In the meantime, I would direct you to this sermon: Jesus Did NOT Die For Everyone's Sins!Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! Re: Hello All
The sermon looks like it will hit the nail on the head. I feel as if this person has more of a love for their child than they do for Jesus, which I guess is essentially the same thing as you said in John 3:18.Originally posted by Mary Etheldreda View PostI would start with John 3:18.
