From what I have seen, the vast majority are atheists out of sheer stupidity and/or ignorance. Clearly this is not the case with Diddlememuch. He is articulate and knowledgeable. He has thoroughly read the Bible and knows it as well as many True Christians™.

I think in his case, as his title denotes, that he is full of pride and arrogance, not wanting to cede the fact that he will be humbled before God in the end. He is much like Satan in this regard.

He'll be just like all the others (Charles Darwin, Christopher Hitchens, Alan Turing, etc.) and die screaming for God's tender mercy on his deathbed.

I only pray that Jesus doesn't drop a tractor trailer truck on him before that.
