    Marine looking for help.

Let's keep it simple. I don't go to church, my favorite verse is Luke 6:31 and I found Jesus as my little brother died in my arms.

Welcome, it's nice to "meet" you! I'm sorry to hear about your little brother. Was he Saved?
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Yes, I used to tease him for it. He always had a little pocket bible with him.

I prefer to stay home and read, what is so wrong with that?

Aw, that's cute! Are you sure he was Saved? I ask because my aunt died a few months ago and my mother was completely torn up about it. They were very close. My mother was sure my aunt was in Heaven, but I know she's suffering right now in the great Lake of Fire. My mother was very upset when I said this to her, crying about how she was a good person, God loves everyone, etc, but the fact is, my aunt was a new creature in Christ. She struggled with depression when she was first diagnosed, she believed and taught her children the Holy Bible was written allegorically in some places like Creation, she feared the pain would get worse, things like that you know. My mother had no idea. She still hasn't returned my calls, so she's being rather childish about this, if you ask me.

I'm sure because he would alsways talk about it. He would tell me to get saved so I could come with him in the end. I just wish the end didn't come so soon.

Talking the talk and walking the walk are very different, friend. I have to admit, I'm getting a warning deep in my Spirit concerning this. I feel the Holy Spirit is not confirming your claims, but is telling me to warn you that your brother is like the rich man now:

19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

                    22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:

28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

                        That's what I'm asking you.

Look, it's not a question most people like to ask, but there is only One Truth, and it isn't changed by our desires or sincere wishes.

He said he was saved. He wouldn't lie to me. If he said he was saved then he is and I have no reason to doubt him. But how can I be saved? The things I did almost guarantee a one way ticket to Hell.

Oh dear. He wouldn't lie to you, but perhaps he lied to himself. There is good news for you, though! You can avoid following your little brother into Hell. Simply read the Holy Bible, believe it - all of it, and obey what God commands - all He commands. The Holy Bible is no ordinary book, dear. Why, it is God's Inspired Word! You see, thousands of years ago, God, in His infinite wisdom, chose to speak to all humanity through the writings of pre-industrial, unhygienic, goat herders. Oh sure, it may be true to our fallible minds today to think of their moral code as equal to that of a Third World dictator. Some may argue that an omniscient God should have mentioned the importance of washing hands or boiling water, or even the idea that having sex with children might not be cool after all. However, it is also true that these divine commandments and lessons, written in a pre-industrial culture in which the entire world was understood to be as large as the area a man could walk in a year, offers the only means by which an individual can avoid the same fate your brother is currently suffering (and will for all eternity).
