Hello and got a couple questions

Hi I'm new as you all can tell and I got a question that's been pondering in my head and I think you all might be able to help me.

Please do not get mad as it's probably a touchy subject but the question is serious.

    1. Is god a pedo?

    2. Did god rape Mary?

Before you rage on me let me explain why I might think such things.

Historians, Archaeologists, Researchers, etc know that in the time Jesus was around girls got married at about age 12-13. So when Mary got pregnant she must have been at least 13. I know humans sin but why on earth would god make such a young girl pregnant?

This comes to my next question.

Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

From what that tells me Neither Mary nor Joseph knew about it till after the fact. So wouldn't that be considered rape?

Oh ya almost forgot one more important thing.

John 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

This tells me that god didn't care what Mary wanted and went ahead and did what he wanted with her.

A pedophile is a person who has relations with a child. God is not a person, so NO (duh!).

And God did not rape Mary as she was filled with the Holy Spirit.

As far as God sinning: not possible by definition (Matthew 5:48, etc. etc.).

Keep reading for a few more verses after Matthew 1:18, all of this is explained.

Now, tell us about your walk with Jesus...we want to get to know you!

      Yours in Christ,

Thanks for your response and not getting mad. Also sorry for the double post but I couldn't find an edit button.

I grew up christian but didn't really go to church. I was thinking of going back and figure joining here.

You're welcome. We realize that the vast majority of people come here to ridicule and persecute us, but we still try to give them the benefit of the doubt (before their inevitable meltdown, of course).

Before you join another church, promise me this: read the Bible from cover-to-cover, starting at Genesis 1:1 and ending at Revelation 22:21, and don't skip anything. I did this when I was 17, and it changed my life.

It doesn't take as long as you think. Just 30 minutes a day, and you'll be done in a few weeks. Some parts may seem slow or repetitive: stick with it.

Best case scenario? It "clicks" for you, and you're on your way to Salvation.

Worst case scenario? You decide an Eternity in Heaven is not for you...but even that has an upside: now when you talk to True Christians(tm) like me and want to debate the finer points of theology and the Bible and Jesus, you are coming from a position of knowledge instead of the same old tired Google results that we see a 100 times a day.

              I'll be praying for you.

Which historians, archaeologists, and researchers? Where in the Bible does it say she was 13? You don't have the slightest idea of what you are talking about. You are just coming here on Christmas Eve trying to be sassy and provocative with nothing to back it up.

Perhaps you are thinking of Moohammed, who has been proved to have married a 9-year-old.

This comes to my next question.

Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

No. Rape is forced sexual penetration. Mary was not impregnated sexually. God chose her to bear His son, Jesus, and she was happy to do it. There was no sex involved.
"Come Unto Me. Put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath." (Matthew 19:14, Job 1:11).

Re: Hello and got a couple questions

Mary was a virgin when she gave birth, for as has been mentioned, she was not impregnated by copulatory means. So the issue of rape is a non sequitur.

As far as consent, Mary responded after being given the particulars by the archangel Gabriel with:

Luke 1:38 (1611 King James Bible)

And Marie said, Behold the handmaide of the Lord, be it vnto me according to thy word: and the Angel departed from her.
I wish you well in your exploration of God's Word. It is filled with wisdom and God's love of righteousness and wrath towards sin.

                    I Kings 7:23

And he made a moulten Sea, ten cubites from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, & his height was fiue cubits: and a line of thirtie cubites did compasse it round about.

Are you a hater of God that believes He is a morally bankrupt monster? Read Why, you ask, is God so angry? to see that it is in fact you that is the monster that mercilessly and infinitely torments God.

Stop this relentless torturing of God and accept Jesus today!

You say this like it's a bad thing?

Just how long do you expect a girl to wait before she starts making herself useful?
