    Hello to all.

    Hello,
I am new to this forum and I only wish to join your community and improve my connection with God as everyone here seems to have reached the sort of inner peace I hope to one day achieve.
I was raised in a family with an Atheist father and a Christian mother, thus finding my place in the world has been somewhat difficult, but I am doing my best to embrace the warmth of the Lord and hopefully achieve salvation.
My knowledge of the Bible is not as great as it should be, so that is one of the reasons I have joined, as well as to find new ways to worship Him.
I hope that you are all okay with my being here, and I look forward to getting to know this community and maybe even reach True Christian™ and find who I am and what my purpose is, with the help of The Lord.

    Signed,
    Kay

    Hello Kay!

You say that your knowledge of the Bible is not very good: have you considered reading it from cover to cover? Many people claim they have, but while they may read parts of it most people have never actually read it all the way through.

I read it all the way through for the first time when I was 17, and it changed my life!

    Yours in Christ,

    Z. Smyth

Welcome, Kay. You seem awfully talkative, but I suppose that's to be expected from the fair gender. Is your atheist father still living? Have you confronted him with the reality of what will happen after he dies?

        Hello Brother Smyth,

Thank you for the suggestion and I will definitely work on reading the Bible from cover to cover. I keep a copy by my bedside so I will begin reading it tonight.
Unfortunately I do not own a King James translation but I will do my best to find one and read it as soon as possible.
Should I wait to get the King James translation or would it be okay to begin reading my current edition tonight? My only hesitation is that my current copy may contain false information and incorrect interpretations.

        Kay

          Hello Faith_Machine,

Thank you for your welcome. I guess I am rather talkative, and I apologize for that. I will do my best to limit what I say to things that help this community.
My father is still living but I have not confronted him about what awaits him after death. It's a difficult subject for me as I find it hard to put these things into words (that's probably hard to believe, but I'm very quiet outside of the computer). I know that there is no excuse for not sharing the light of the Lord and it is definitely something I am trying to become more active in.

Fear not, little lady, for I feel quite certain God is waiting for you to become truly strong in His word before He moves you to go and win your father's soul for Him.

              Read it online here!

Don't skip any parts...start at Genesis 1:1 and end at Revelation 22:21.

Given that this is your very first post here, I strongly doubt the veracity of your claim. Why on Earth would dear Zecharia send any kind of message, much less a threatening one, to somebody who has not even been active on this message board?

Did Satan tell you to come here and begin your relationship with us by telling lies, boy?

I have added you to my prayer list.

Thunder may well be torn to shreds by bears for teasing our good Brother for wearing spectacles. That is what happened to 42 children for teasing Elisha about his baldness.
                    2 Kings 2:23-24
23 And he went up from thence unto Beth-el: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth alittle bchildren out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. 24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and ccursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two dchildren of them.
