    This is an introduction.

Hello. My name is Stephen. When I go to church, I go to the Valley Christian Center. I don't have a favorite Bible verse. I've known Jesus since birth thanks to my grandmother.
I had joined because I'd thought that this could be quite the enjoyable experience, but after looking through the threads, I have unfortunately noticed that there are many uninformed, rude individuals located here. It honestly makes me moderately sad that people don't show God's love as much as they show his hate; honestly, I believe getting people to become true and honest Christians would be as simple as showing them God's love. Is that not why all of you and I are graced by His presence? Instead, the unsaved are generally met with truthful but extremely rude responses.
I likely will rarely come back to this site, if ever, only because the general feel is hateful and rather than showing love, individuals on this site only show God's hatred. I only introduced myself to make a humble request: would you all, when confronted with sinners and the like, at the very least try to include God's love among the truth? When confronting sinners, the general pattern on this website is to poke fun at them and only show how much God hates them. Why would that make them want to convert to the true religion? Just show them the hospitality and respect our Father has shown us, no matter how they treat us. I'd bet that it would make everyone much happier and the chances of sinners changing to believers would most certainly increase.
Thank you for your patronage. God bless.

Presumably, you are a Roman. Better that you seek Jesus before it's too late.

Note that we Christians believe it is more merciful to rudely inform a wretched sinner he is Hell bound than to politely hold open the door to perdition to ease his way. Also, I have noted in the past that those who announce their angry departure usually actually have much more to say.

    God Bless!

Well, obviously, you don't The Truth© or you would know what Psalm 58:3 says; it says we are born sinners and it is only after we have learned and been taught of God that we come to Him (see also John 6:44-45).

Friend, why in the world would we want to show the LOVE of God, but not the HATE of God since each will be received by whom they are due? One cannot be more important than the other, and we'd be foolish to not let sinners know that God hates them if they don't do the first works quickly and repent (see Daniel 12:1-2; Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 2:5).

We'd rather not be deluded by false Christians anyway, so no hard feelings.

We're not poking fun at anyone. These are eternally serious matters, and when we enforce God's "tough love" on sinners for the error of their ways, we are doing no different than Elijah did who mocked the Baal worshippers when their false god failed to materialize...

And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked. (I Kings 18:27)

So you see, once again, it would help if you knew the Scriptures or what God wanted of you before barging in here and accusing us of not having God's Love.

      Regards,

      Pastor Ed

        Re: This is an introduction.

Stephen, sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind. These sinners have to be shocked into understanding the real consequences of their actions. If we were to tell them that God loves them as they are, we would be lying, and God hates liars. God is not just a loving God, He is also a vengeful and jealous God, who does not hesitate in smiting sinners. Why promise someone an eternal life, when the truth is that these sinners will burn in Hell? And if the effect of us being honest and truthful with them means that they repent their sins and accept the Lord Jesus into their lives, we have achieved much more than lying to them.

Many, if not most churches these days, like to make religion all nice and fluffy and 'feel good'. This is not what the Bible tells us. So why are they lying and re-inventing Christianity? It's a pretty simple answer really - they want your money. They don't care how they get it, provided they can suck people in. At Landover, we don't operate that way. We follow the Bible to the letter. We are honest about what the Bible says. Those who don't like it, every word of it, will go to Hell. We offer the opportunity for everyone to reform, and accept True Salvation.

          Re: This is an introduction.

Ah. My first interaction with a denizen of this forum is one of accusation. The second is one of overanalyzation and taking what I say out of context. This is the problem.
Assuming that I am a Roman? Why are you accusing me of something you have no evidence for?
As for the second, do realize that you are scaring off those God wishes to save. Think of it in the form of a metaphor. Would you, when trying to remove a thorn from an injured animal. Would you rip it out with force, only to have the animal run away or injure you in return, or would you attempt to be delicate and truly save the creature? People do not respond positively to the anger you are showing me. What you should do is ease them into the truth. When you're certain that they are ready, show them everything. Please don't be as rude to others as you both have been to me.
As a final thought, that "since birth" statement was clearly an exaggeration. Everyone makes them. Do not overanalyze things for the sake of starting a fight, please.

            Re: This is an introduction.

            Dear, kind Stephen:

Are you ready to know God? Are you ready to be saved from your sins? Are you ready to REPENT? That means change. Making a change from the devilish way of living to following Jesus wherever he may lead you. I can tell you right now that he will lead you OUT of the dance hall club. He will lead you OUT of the crack house. He will lead you OUT of your current life and INTO GLORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But you have to count the cost. Are you ready to live the life of one of the despised ones? I wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING IN THE WORLD! AND I MEAN IT! I began my ascent out of the abyss (a deep and horrible pit) at a young age, and I am still following on to know my Lord! It has been an EXHILARATING journey! I'M ON MY WAY NOW AND, BLESS GOD, HALLELUJAH, I'M CLOSER TO SEEING JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PRAISE HIM ALL YE SAINTS! PRAISE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God took me out of the dung heap, blood in my skirt and all, and I'm still standing today. He led me out through His Word. Won't you come? Believe the gospel--that Christ died for you temporarily, was buried, and rose again the third day. Do you believe it? If you do, tell Him so and ask Him to save your dark, sinful, pathetic, worthless soul. He will do it. I know He will because He said so--
John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
If you hear God's call, come on to Jesus. The word is nigh thee. It is not far away. It is right in your mouth and in your heart. That is how close it is--
Romans 10:8 ...The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, THOU SHALT BE SAVED.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 FOR WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED.
[Note: Those that cannot speak with their mouths simply pray and confess the name of the Lord Jesus by the means by which they communicate, e.g., sign language, wriggling in the sand until words are formed, smoke signals, or any other communication approved by Jesus. Also, there IS a difference between the Joo and the Greek; this is one of the places where you must read other scripture to clarify GOD's true meaning]

Once you come to Jesus, start seeking the Master's face. The way you seek him is in his word. Get yourself an Authorized (King James) 1611 Version of the Holy Bible with all the thee's and thou's and with just PLAIN text NO COMMENTARIES AMONGST THE VERSES OR CROSS-REFERENCES and read it daily, it is your bread (begin at the first book of the Bible, Genesis, and then read it straight through. PRAY as you read! Ask GOD to speak to you through the begats and the wonderful stories of blood and guts!

If you follow these instructions, beloved, you will soon see why our zeal to bring the Bread of Life - God's Holy Word - to the lost sometimes comes across as harsh. GOD HATES SISSIES! Do you think when Jesus went to school and was playing with his little friends and one of them knocked Him down that He cried and whined? NO! He was Jesus, for Christ's sake. He took those bumps and bruises and knew that He was bound for even harsher treatment when He was NAILED to a cross for me, for you, for the world. A cross, Stephen - not a feather bed at the Hilton. HALLELUJAH!

Get over yourself - because this forum, PRAISE GOD, will go on regardless of how many mamby pamby half hearted people come, and then sign off as soon as they come. God wants you to come, too. He wants you to be satisfied. He wants you to feel His love and not His wrath - but He is not going to restrain that wrath come the Glory. HALLELUJAH, we serve a righteous Lord, GLORY! GLORY! I feel the Hooooooooooooooooooly Ghost upon me right now, brother - and the Hollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly Ghost wants you to know that GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD loves you but He hates, yes HATES sinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnuh. He is reaching around for you, trying to lead you to His plan for your lifffffffeuh - oh GLORY - won't you stop being a lukewarm soul and feel His HOT love?

            Prayerfully,

Warm fuzzy Jesus is not the Jesus of God's Holy Writ,

And if you are not born again you will not receive the gift of eternal life. You are not born again, you are a follower. God will make no allowance for the weak minded. Get right with Jesus and quick. It's that or Hell. Don't go there; it's too hot.

                      Dear Godmocking Whore;

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule of worshiping satan and spreading your legs for anyone with a dollar to post this hateful message. The Holy Bible tells us that we are actually Blessed by your persecution! Thanks for proving that we're right.

Matthew 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Enjoy hell. I know that Jesus and I can't wait to watch you burn in hell for all eternity. Oh, how we'll laugh at you as you scream in agony! Shout Glory!!

Do you actually read The Bible at this church?

God is certainly clear about His Love:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

                        Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

But this 'Easing them into the truth?' This is God's Word and, especially as a Christian, I'm in no position to question it or sugarcoat it. It is as clear and easy as it gets. You owe it to God, yourself and others to be upfront and honest.

Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Acts 12:23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

2 Kings 2:24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16)

"But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery." (Matthew 5:32)
