    Hello

My name is Ayla and I'm 24. My favorite bible verse, although I have many, is
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
I grew up as a follower and servant of Jesus.
I'm here today for many reasons. With my mother standing next to me observing, I'm very embarassed to admit that I was smoking marijuana. I was not only caught but disappointed my family and savior and myself. I know I must do whats right always and I failed. In agreement with my mother, I'm here to confess, shamefully, and ask what the proper punishment should be. She wants to paddle me but I feel I'm too old for that. Regardless, I know I must accept whatever the punishment is. Again, Im ashamed of myself. I have sinned.

    Hello, Ms. Ayla

What an interesting name. Ayla. Originally Turkish (, "the halo around the Moon") but apparently also Christian nowadays?? Or is it a referral to the alleged prehistory novels by Jean Auel (the books are most anti-Christian, so I hope not).

Proverbs: always useful. Nice verses! And you've recognized some of your sins and seemingly started on the path of repentance. It is good not to hesitate there - time is running out and the End of Days is approaching as we write this!

You should consult your male relatives instead of your mother regarding the proper punishment (see below my signature for details).

Zephaniah 1:7 Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests.

    Yours in Christ,

I'm somewhat confused: why is your mother correcting your behavior? This is a job for your husband.

You say your mother is going to paddle your bottom? Mmm-hmmmm, that does sound like a, er, well...

        It's an appropriate punishment.

I must echo Brother Smyth's concern that you are not allowing your husband to discipline you, rather than your mum.

Ephesians 5:22 "Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord."
1st Timothy 2:11-12 "Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."

          YIC
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

            Re: Hello

I agree that a proper punishment is needed here. In as much as you seem grieved by your outrageous behavior and may be saved yet, I believe that we should forgo stoning, which is our go to remedy.

Possibly a beating would suffice. If not, the amputation of a few fingers should be enough.

Pray for forgiveness child, as the earthly punishments you will receive are but a whisper compared to the fires of Hell.
God judgeth the righteous, And God is angry with the wicked every day- Psalm 7:11

              Hi

I certainly hope you log back into the world's friendliest forum. All of us here at Landover Baptist church are just a big warm family and we're always reaching out to new souls who want to be saved and embraced by the Baby Jesus!

Now, you sound like you could be new to the correct Christian way to live so let me start off by suggesting this verse of the KJV of the Holy Bible. Malachi 3:8 - "Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings"

That said we do require all new members to submit your tax forms proving all sources of income for the past 7 years as well as verification of your current income so we can calculate precisely the 10% offering that is due Landover Baptist Church. And naturally you giving to help with God's glorious work should be cheerful. 2 Corinthians 9:7 "Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver."

So let me welcome you to our family of loving Christians!
Revelation 19:15-16 "And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords."

                Re: Hello

As our handsome Thomas has informed you, we are such a loving, welcoming, warm group that it makes my heart all aflutter each time I log in to God's favorite forum. I know when I enter the site that Jesus will be there through His Holy Spirit and my amazing friends will have their arms open wide to encourage and lift me up in God's Grace. What a privilege we have to be a part of such a fellowship. Thank You, Baby Jesus!

I love your willingness to admit your sins. I admonish you to allow one of the males in your family to determine your punishment. If you are unmarried, it is better for a male relative than a weak minded female to make the decision. Even a small five year old boy is more important than those of us with childbearing parts.

May God continue to work in your life as you seek His face in all you do. What a glorious face that is!

                  Re: Hello

                  Hello,

I am so glad to welcome you here to these forums. I am even gladder to see you acknowledge your sins and feel shame for them. However, the beautiful thing about Christ is that while your sins bring shame, if you repent, He will wipe you sins clean! Isiah 44:22, "I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee."

However, I will echo the others, including the dear wonderful Sister in Christ Miss Lamb about letting your mother decide your punishment. While the Bible says, "
                  Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. 2 Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;
3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth." in Ephesians 6:1-3, and that does include mothers, we need to remember that the men are so much more capable than us ladies. After all, who fell first in the Garden of Eden? It was the woman, Eve.

                  Yours in Christ!
