Jesus forgave those who killed him so should we not as well? And just so you know, while it was the Jews who caused his death, it was the Romans that actually killed him.

God's covenant with the Jews:

Genesis 17:1-8 his covenant with Abraham.

Genesis 26:3 the covenant is renewed.

Most of Exodus 19-34, the covenant with Moses.

So, if God made a covenant with the Jews, one that basically said they were the chosen people, then would that not still stand?

If God broke his covenant with the Jews than we have no assurance he will not break our covenant in Christ as well. If he did break the covenant, he would be untrustworthy, and unworthy of our praise. However, he is worthy of our praise, because he is trustworthy. We may not like everything he does but he does not break promises, even when those on the other side do, as shown with the Israelites in the Desert.
