Welcome to the forum, HS-NS. It looks like you haven't read Rev. Osborne's sermon on the most misunderstood passage in all the Bible. He reminds us that "Matthew 7:1-5 is not a prohibition against all judgment. These verses are a warning against hypocritical judgment, not judgment in itself." He goes on to quote Bible verses that tell us to judge, such as:

Lev 19:15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.

Ps 37:30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.

Jn 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

1 Cor 5:12-13 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?

I can foresee you're going to try to tell us that God hates the sin but loves the sinner (your user name is a bit of a give away), so I'll cut you off at the pass. Notice in the following verses that God does indeed hate not only sins but individuals.

Lev 20:23 And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.

Lev 26:30 And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.

Mal 1:3 And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.

Rom 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

Rev 2:6; 15 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate.

And good Christians can hate too.

Ps 139:21-22 Do not I hate them, O Lord, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.

Lk 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

You should also read Bible Answers: Who are our neighbors? Who are our brothers and sisters? Who are we to love?, which explains how we only have to love our brothers and sisters in Christ and our neighbors (which does not include everybody!).

I would ask you all to look with compassion upon those who are raped. The idea that "only sluts get raped" is a sweeping and stereotypical statement one that we should never use to judge others by. There may be cases where a woman dresses so provocatively that she entices a man to rape her but I as you to remember that Jesus said that "anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away" (Mthw 5:28-29)

Does this not remind us that it is the perverse nature of the man lusting after a woman who is not his wife or his betrothed that is causing the sin rather than the dress of the woman?


We are called upon as members of a peace loving and kind religion to remember that we should “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” (Mt 5:44), All who hear these messages of such unkindness and of such judgement I ask you to pray for those who speak them, and not to allow them to cause you pain or to judge them to harshly. That's not what God tells us in the Bible.

We see in Judges, chapter 21, where the tribes of Israel sent twelve thousand of their valiantest to punish the tribe of Benjamin for the grievous crime of not attending their assembly (they didn't even RSVP, how rude!), by killing them all (except the ones who were hiding IN a rock [yeah, that's what it really says]), women and children included, except for the young women who had not yet lain with a man. Unfortunately, they only found 400 virgin girls, which wasn't sufficient. The fact that that's probably about 395 more than could be found in the neighbourhood these days is irrelevant.

So plan B (still in Judges 21) was to have all the guys with unrequited trouser tents to go and kidnap some of their cousins from the tribe of Shiloh, by hiding in their vineyards while they had their feast of the Lord, grabbing them when they came out to dance, and then bravely and honourably running away.

Now do you really think that any of those girls were willing participants in their marriages?

Maybe you haven't heard the whole story about the birds and the bees, but the point of sex is to make babies. If you're not making babies, you're not having sex right.

Using contraceptives during sex is like removing the tires from a car. Sure, you can pretend that you're driving, but you're not getting anyway. There is no logical point to contraceptives.

As we saw in my last post, the wolf gets left out of God's plan. Let's say I'm a wolf. I only eat meat. A fish, a bird, a sheep. And I spot one. Lunch. I drool.

Psalm 50:10-12 For every beast of the forest is mine is mine and the cattle upon a thousand hills. I know all the fowls of the mountains and the wild beasts of the field are mine. If I were hungry I would not tell thee for the world is mine and the fulness thereof.

I crouch down, I creep up to eat it. "Yum," I think. "Lunch" but then just as I pounce it gets snatched from me.

What can I eat? The sheep gets fed, the birds get fed - but I don't. What sort of plan is that?
