Dear Sir,

I do not deny the many good deeds germany did in the past. After all, germany stopped the french from taking over the world more than once.

But historical merits are no reason to glorify a country.

There are also some depressing and dark points in germanys history. Do you know that germany once had a very evil chancellor who hated America and everything the USA stands for?

(I´m talking about no other one than Gerhard Schroeder, who refused to aid the greatest President of the United States in his war against Iraq.)

Was the chancellor from austria like hitler....sounds like it.

Schröder (officially spelt "Schroeder" in English) was born in Mossenberg, in what is now North Rhine-Westphalia. His father Fritz Schröder, a lance corporal in the Wehrmacht, was killed during World War II in action in Romania on 4 October 1944, a few months after Gerhard's birth. His mother Erika worked as an agricultural laborer in order to support herself and her two sons.
Schröder completed an apprenticeship in retail sales in a Lemgo hardware shop from 1958 to 1961, then worked in a retail shop in Lage and after that as an unskilled construction worker and a sales clerk in Göttingen while studying at night school to gain a high school diploma. He did not have to do military service because his father died in the war. [1] In 1966, Schröder secured entrance to a university, passing the Abitur exam at Westfalen-Kolleg, Bielefeld. From 1966 to 1971 he studied law at the University of Göttingen. From 1972 onwards, Schröder served as an assistant at the university. In 1976, he passed his second law examination and worked as a lawyer until 1990.
Among his more controversial cases, Schröder helped founding member of the Baader-Meinhof terrorist group Horst Mahler secure an early release from prison and the permission to practice law again in Germany.[

After the resignation of Oskar Lafontaine as SPD Chairman in March, 1999, in protest at Schröder's adoption of a number of what Lafontaine considered "neo-liberal"

In its first term, Schröder's government decided to phase out nuclear power, fund renewable energies, institute civil unions which enabled same-sex partners to enter into a civil union, and liberalize naturalization law. Most voters associated Schröder with the Agenda 2010 reform program, which included cuts in the social welfare system (national health insurance, unemployment payments, pensions), lowered taxes, and reformed regulations on employment and payment.

German troops had not taken part in combat actions since World War II.
In addition to a friendly relationship with Jacques Chirac, Schröder cultivated close ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin,

I surely love Jesus, the Father and the Holy Spirit.

But I can see only one Scripture based proof that Jesus loves germany:

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

So I suggest a little tough love would do germany good.

I did not take it that way at all. I believe that Scheorder is dragging Your great country down as Obaama is doing to ours. If you were to use the rambling liberalist followers as examples of the whole country one would believe the USA is on the brink of Socialist overthrow. You seem to be inferring thaT Germans, as a whole, hates Americans. While I believe that a minority of Germans feel that way, because of the ultra liberal leanings of your Chancellor, muCk raking journalists try to convince the world that all of Germany feels anger towards the USA.

I´m glad to tell you that Schroeder is no longer chancellor of germany, so there will surely come a time when Obama no longer rules the USA. Now germany has a conservative government and everything is runnig smoothly.
Ok, they´re currently struggling hard to keep the power because of the Obama crisis that made some ignorant people believe that private business is fallible and lowering taxes for the better-offs is not the best policy, but there is still hope:

I´ve already pointed out that the historical merits of the Reich are no good reason to glorify germany today. During the Heilige Roemische Reich Deutscher Nation, germany was a fine federal state with great respect for state-rights and the laws of the states. Palatinate was free and united and the ruler of Palatinate even owned a seat as a Kurfuerst (1). Those were great days
before the french and the prussians came...

(1) He was, by the way, germanys only Christian Kurfuerst. All others were catholics, muslims or lutherans.
