1st - I don't know what kind of hotels you usually in, but in portugal we don't assign "servants" to tourists. Otherwise, I'm not sure if you've heard but Guimarães is a city in the North of Portugal which has just been considered EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE for 2012. Here's a list of some monuments you could've visited besides the local Church (sigh) or... ugh... McDonalds?!

Portuguese people are actually known for being nice, warm and cousy. Of course that if you expect to get a servant and treat us like idiots, we shall treat you as the scumbag you're acting as. (It's true - we do get easily pissed off when made fools of - which we are not).

ABOUT PORTUGUESE SPEAKING SPANISH - WE DON'T. WE SPEAK PORTUGUESE - YES, IT'S ACTUALLY A LANGUAGE, ONCE WAS ACTUALLY THE MOST SPOKEN LANGUAGE WORLDWIDE. UNLIKE THAT SO CALLED "AMERICAN LANGUAGE" you refer to in: "And only 2 channels where in American language."
Don't even get me started about McDonald's being "decent" food - Portugal is actually also known for it's great gastronomy - unlike America, which is known for what? Obese people (hum, I wonder if that has anything to do with McDonald's being considered "decent" food).

Funny. In Sunday School (which in Portugal isn't called Sunday School since we had it twice or 3 times a week) they taught us God had no favorites. They taught us God loved everyone equally, regardless of skin color, body fat, amount of money, etc. So why exactly is God's favorite country US? actually, the Virgin Mary appeared in Portugal to 3 kids on May 13th 1917, appearing repeatedly on the 5 months that followed. one of those kids was even beatificated (i'm not sure this is the correct term, i apologise) when she was still alive, along with her brother and cousin who had already passed. In conclusion, you shouldn't be talking that way about a country based on one bad experience, specially because you have no idea what you were talking about. I respect all countries and all people, and I don't consider myself very religious. This is a christian forum, respect at least that.
