    * A True Christian™ woman would keep her eyes down and never look another a True Christian™ man in the eye with the exception of her husband and only when he commands it.
A True Christian™ woman should not be afraid to stare down Unsaved Trash.

Can you imagine Sister Maria Whitford telling off an abortionist or a homosexual (or a homosexual abortionist) while not looking him in the eye? I sure can't!

I am grateful and humbled by your appropriate correction.

      Thank you.
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

My dear Sister, I do look forward to observing your rebuking style in the near future. Do you go with the Ladies of Landover to the Factory Stores of America in Story City? I met the LOL (and their husbands, of course) there once en route to Freehold; Story City is just outside Des Moines, and I had to fly in there.

        Coach.

        On US Air.

Because apparently all of Landover's jets were 'scheduled to be detailed' the weekend of my visit.

Which had been planned eight months in advance.

And I had to rent a Yugo, which was missing both window handles, reeked of cigarette smoke, and had no air conditioning, because every single one of Landover's cars was 'in the shop for routine preventive maintenance', and all the decent cars were rented already because of a big conference in Des Moines.

So I had to wash up in the men's room at the mall (it being summer and all, with no A/C and windows that don't go down one gets mighty hot, it was like a greenhouse on wheels), and got taken in by "mall security" to explain my "public indecency" and "vagrancy" to the police.

Who declined to press charges as soon as Mrs. Whitford stuck her head in the office and gave them just one look. Thus the importance of a True Christian(tm) woman looking unsaved trash in the eye!

Not that it wasn't a nice visit, otherwise. Pastor Ezekiel was kind enough to put me up at the Memory Lane Tea Room & Bed and Breakfast in Albia. Zeke knows how much I enjoy a nice tea room; we've been to several together.

Unfortunately, upon arrival I learned this one had closed.

So I had to stay at a Motel 6 in Des Moines the first night -- yes, driving back another 65 miles, with windows that didn't go down and no A/C -- until a room opened up at the Indian Hills Inn.

Which was not on Landover's qualified reimbursement list (being run by non-Christians), so I had to cough up for my room myself.

But the BBQ cook-off was a great time! And really, I wasn't the least bit off-put by being seated at the Tin Tither table. I understand that the Pastors Table was full. And I got to talk with some really fascinating people.

I really had no idea it was possible to yodel with one's mouth full of beer and corn bread.

So women should own themselves because YOU tell them to? You think you have that much authority over all of our wives? A TRUE Christian(tm) woman submits herself to her husband willingly as the Bible commands her to, and doesn't need to be told to do as she's told!

No, friend, you are mistaken. We are not our own, we belong to God:

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
                1st Corinthians 6:19-20

As His possession, He can choose to bring us to Heaven when we die, or send us to Hell. It's no different than you deciding what to do with your old car once it dies - it doesn't choose, you do, and you don't feel a lick of guilt for it either. Why should we struggle with feelings of autonomy when that will only inspire us to rebel against He Who could throw us in the Lakes of Fire? That would be stupid. We may be just women, but we're not that stupid!

Some of the girls at my school dress outrageously, wearing little to no clothing all the time. I find it absolutely hideous and so does my father? Who would want to marry someone who dresses so obscenely?

My father picks out my clothing for me, and what he chooses for me are actually quite appealing.Who knew men had such great taste in clothing?

During the winter, I wear ankle length skirts and wonderful sweaters that my mother made for me before she passed away. When it gets a little bit warmer, like it has been getting recently, I wear lighter, prettier skirts that are about mid calf on me and wear shirts with delightful sayings on them like "Jesus Loves You" or "Have you prayed today?". They give me a happy feeling when I wear them.

I dress modestly all the time, just like my Father wants me to.
I believe women should be ladylike, and dressing like modern teenagers do is very much the opposite.

Thank you so very much for this wonderful advice on dressing modestly. I have never heard of the rule of never looking a man in the eye, but now I will follow it at all times. Everyone here is giving me so much advice on being a better person! Where would I be without all of you?

                        God bless!
