I have to say my daddy has the best solution to this problem, he just doesn't let me go swimming. That's it, that's all. He says if I want to swim I might as well go sell myself for the devil and his evil ways. The only time I was allowed to "swim" was when I was baptized and saved!!!

I will ask my husband about these. Would be great to go to the beach again. Actually, I never met a truly christian woman who had regular swimwear, but these are giving me new hope!

If ladies swim-wear is such an issue to you, you're probably struggling with lustful thoughts, and shouldn't be near a pool or beach anyway.

Quite close to where I live there is a lake, and one of the outflowing rivers sports a populat and secluded swimming hole. It is frequented by shameless perverts, especially at night. Around 2 a.m. there can be quite a little gathering, many of whom do wear animal skins of different types - but it does not look as though very much of the animal is used to make these garments. Something about the size of a guinnea pig would be adequate for what most of the hallucinating participants would wear but I was amazed to witness how these monsters ripped the skimpy "swimwear" off one another in the dark, floodlit by SUV headlights, gyrating wildly on the white sandy shore. I have no idea what was happening in the water but the frenzy reminded me of a piranha attack (without the blood). God knows what they were doing, and God smote them by fire killing 173 (with 30 still missing).

So yes, Adam and Eve were naked BUT when they discovered their shame were equally smitten.

Although I do enter the water from time time (to catch an eel or two - they are plentiful around here) I would NEVER do so for "fun" and neither should any True Christian woman (unless instructed to by her owner) [subject to Pastoral approval]. I did notice that after these Godly bushfires the swimming hole was one of the first sites to be rehabilitated. Now you'd never know that there'd been a fire at all! Satan is indeed active in these, the last days.

It appears to me that the men wear nothing at all

One local manufacturer is offering this garment in dyed chamois as swimwear that may be suitable for a Christian to wear - if it is ever appropriate for a Chriatian woman to swim at all (except when necessary to feed herself). Combined with a pullover - in jute, or tully, perhaps - these garments might be OK [subject to Pastoral approval].

There is only one mention of swimming in the Bible (Isaiah 25:11), and it's not altogether positive. If God wanted us to swim, He would've given us gills. We don't have them, so to swim is to mock God. The fact that people dress like porn stars while swimming just confirms its un-Godly nature.

I find that remark extremely offensive, Mr Lukes. All my boys are strong swimmers and the older ones dedicate much of their spare time to protecting the shores of the south of England from the endless scourge of illegal immigrants in easily-punctured inflatable dinghies, sent over by the Godless French. Wetsuits, scuba gear, spearguns and well-honed shooting skills are all they need to send these people (who as a rule cannot swim) to their watery doom.

Another benefit of their hard work is that we get quite a lot of free fish and the occasional seal.

It may have escaped your notice that there is quite a lot of water around the borders of the United States? When boatloads of Mexicans start invading your shores - or, worse, when Canadians start crossing those lakes in rubber dinghies - you will have need of those skills. Though possibly not in Nebraska, unless the "global warming" conspira-loons are right and sea-levels rise unexpectedly.

It is important for children who live near the sea to learn to swim even before they can walk, as it gives them a fighting chance of survival should they crawl over a clifftop. That's assuming the tide is in, of course.

I would love to swim with Joanna's boys, offering help with the dreadful French. Our Canadian border is as vulnerable as that of England, Ireland, Wales, and Scotland. Perhaps your boys could reciprocate by helping me in Nova Scotia?

In these last days there's little regard for dress standards. To catch a fish or bring up a pearl is one thing. Flaunting oneself to encourage voluptuousness in others is something else. God is always consistent and His requirements are set out plainly regarding hairstyles, fabrics, bling and so on. And because He is consistent those standards never change.

When fashionistas repurpose garments which do have a valid use, such as the chamois loincloths more or less essential for pearling, that is where our witness is most urgent to save deluded wretches from the torments they deserve. God is explicit on this and God is always consistent. This is our encouragement to step out for Him to make His mercies known.
