If a man can pay the price in silver what is the problem? The woman gets to be married (EVEN if she is ugly) and her dad gets a bunch of money.

Many rapist and rapees deserve to die but not all of them. Evidence proof profound indeed that Jesus is merciful. I really think that you are doing yourself no favours by demonising all rapists. We do not live in fascist Italy.
