Hi, all.

Okay, I found at least some of old Miss Collins' boxes of files from when she was Chairlady of Freehold Elections.

This stuff is going to take literally forever to get through. Everything's handwritten because she apparenty was wary of technology -- even manual typwriters -- and half of it's in some sort of code (?) She also switches back and forth between using proper names and nicknames. (Who are CoreGroup, Riverman and what looks like BKW/BigKingWestcoast??) Also, who's T.A.? (Does she mean The Association, which appears elsewhere?)

She's also referencing materials in Storerooms 101-150 and I have no idea what those are.

Does anyone know what she's writing about?

Is there any truth in the rumours about Icelandic-looking footprints being found in the mud in his garden? The eftirgrennslanadeild are a very sinister outfit, I definitely wouldn't put this past them.

We're just waiting for the Chairlady of Freehold Elections to research what our next steps should be. Old man Mitchell was mayor here for I don't know how many years. I don't think we've ever had a situation like this before. Anyone seen Miss Cookie?

Gosh, I forgot I volunteered for that position when Miss Collins moved to Colorado. Frankly, I'm still going through all her old paperwork. It really was sort of a cursory job because as I understand it, Mayor Mitchell had been reelected so many times and with barely any oposition, so the system kind of ran itself. Everyone promised me it was "no big deal" when they pressed me into service.

I do think, Pastor Zeke, that technically the Town Council is in charge of decision-making until the next election. But I don't know how much time is left to run on the Mayor's current term.

I've heard that the Town Council will be meeting in the church offices because the Mayor's offices are taped-off for the investigation, and no one knows for how long. The church has generously offered them space and assistance, and to help shepherd everyone through the changeover....whatever that entails.

I don't think anything should be decided right away, as we're all in a highly emotional state, and we don't want to create a panic, either. So let's just see what the Male Elders and the Pastors have to say first. There must be some precedent for this.

I recently saw Miss Collin's box of files somewhere....I'll look for them.

Mayor Mitchell was a Great American©, recognized nationally by True Patriots™ across Our Great Country®. Why else would prominent Republicans elected to national office flock to Freehold for fundraising weekends at Mitch's secluded cottage?



California Republican Rep. David Dreier was a frequent weekend visitor.



Mitch would often confer with prominent journalists like Jim Gannon, sometimes secluding themselves for days at a time going over pressing issues.




Another California Republican, Rep. Darrell Issa was also seen in town on several occasions.



He was frequently in communication with Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL), tapping his intimate knowledge of how to relate to America's youth.



I'm sure everyone remembers when The Singing Senators (L-R Trent Lott (R-MS), Larry Craig (R-ID), John Ashcroft (R-MO), and Jim Jeffords (R-VT)) came to Freehold for a fundraiser in 1999.



Recently, Mitch had developed a relationship with up-and-coming Republican congressman Aaron Schock (R-IL). The last time I saw Mitch, he became teary-eyed and distraught when I noted that Rep. Schock was making a lot of new friends in the Republican Party, and how much so many of my Republican friends admire him.

He will be missed.

One thing I won't miss is his lack of participation, especially on this forum. He just had this 'elite' air about him, like he thought he was better than me.

This is true. It would be better if our next major would be active on this forum.

You know I was just getting ready to post about how shocked and upset I was that such a GODly man was taken from us so soon. But this gives me second thoughts.

Sister Mary Maria was talking about "murmurings." I don't think we should pay any attention to gossip like this, especially not in the light of mayor Mitchell's recent death. Our mayor might have been a little bit loftily, like Brother Nobar said, but I don't believe for a moment he was a communist.

Hmmm. Interesting tidbit. My husband, Mr. Whitford, told me there were some murmurings that Mayor Mitchell had said that B. Hussein Obama's Marxist jobs bill "wasn't all that bad, it has some decent points in it." I'm wondering if perhaps he took the easy way out instead of facing the scandal of a recall vote.

I have been here a little longer than a few hours. There is more to Freehold than just this forum. I understand that it will take some time for me to earn your trust but I am confident that in time you will learn to appreciate me for my actions instead of focusing on the color of my skin.

Mr. King, may I remind you that this thread is NOT about you or your, eh, chromatic persuasion.

We are all SHOCKED by this news. Yes, of course Mitch is now with Jesus, probably sipping a cold one, but for Freehold this is a terrible LOSS.

So if you could please stop yapping for a while that would be great. Thank you.
