Wait, you finally had her in custody, and you let her go?

Is it just me, folks, or is Mayor Hold acting a little . . . liberal?

I understand your concern, Brother Rodimer. Yet with female patients/prisoners, as I understand it, what is often taken into consideration as mitigating circumstances is that the Town Council, the Pastors and Male Elders, (and in that sacred tradition, now Mayor Hold), realize that we women are but frail.

This means 1.) we often get ourselves into trouble, but aren't really so accountable because we have a smaller brain, are susceptible to undue influence, etc., and 2.) in the grand scheme of things, we don't really have much of an impact, either for good or for ill.

We women are not, in the final analysis, a significant threat, as we lack the strength, firmness of purpose and organizational skills in the long run to wreck much havoc.

And with Cassandra free, there's always the chance she'll MOVE. Whereas with her in jail, we're stuck with her. (And, feeding and housing her for free just lets her leech off the system.)

I still think a good year under the watchful eye of a pastor would of been more beneficial.

Either that or marry her to Brother Enoch's retarded son.

I think she lives mostly out in the woods...so she doesn't have much of an effect on anyone.

If she were under the "eye" of a pastor, it would give her opportunity to cast her "love spells" in town and hurl sacrificial intestines around, etc.

Out of sight, out of mind.

It's true, I'm cleared of all charges, as is mrs. Johnson. Funny how it happened, they just showed up at my cell and said: "you are released from prison, get your witch *ss out of here." Not one word about what made them change your mind. Suddenly, now the elections are over, all the evidence seems to have disappeared.

Do not think I'm grateful in any way, Mould. I've been imprisoned for two weeks without reason, and the only reason I'm released is because you do not want to draw the negative attention of the Iowa Supreme Court towards Freehold in a possible court case. The only reason I don't press charges against you at the moment is because this has been a really exhausting experience, and I need a long moment of repose in the forest.

I still hate you, Mould. Even if there is nothing we can do against the unlawful way you've grabbed power in Freehold against the will of the populace, I will always oppose you. You may be mayor, but the discontent majority is still here. You can't smother us.
An it harm none, do what thou wilt.

And therefore let there be beauty and strength, power and compassion, honour and humility, mirth and reverence within you.

I hope that an ankle bracelet or at least a GPS implant was provided, just in case of emergency, we can find Cassie. I'd hate for her to fall off a cliff or down a well and not be able to locate her.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

I would just GO, Miss Cassie, before they change their minds.

                Save the speeches till later.

To the contrary, Rev. Rodimer. It is in the true conservative tradition to release such prisoners after the election is over. It is, in fact, a necessity.

We in the the true conservative political bid'ness, as we call it, know well the election cycle. During a political term, we begin the process of finding individuals or groups to demonize. Ater finding our "marks", we proceed to publically demonize. Then, just before the election, we began the arrest and jail program.

I'm sure you know of the Salem witches, WWII Japs, post WWII communists, Nixon's student protestors and today's "illegal aliens". All of these demonization, arrest and jail political programs were immensely successful.

To be successful, however, all the jailed people from one cycle must be released. Otherwise, there is no room for the demons of the next cycle.
