  • Praise God! May the Lord's wrath be upon them....

As you all know, Spain began allowing fags to marry a few years ago. I believe in July of 2005. Well, God has finally gotten around to paying them back for spitting in his face.

As soon as I heard about this disaster I knelt down and prayed to God and thanked him for his righteous judgments upon the world.

"I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments" (Psalm 119:7)

"At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments" (Psalm 119:62)

    Praise Jesus, Amen!

This topic is relevant for me . I have just been on a different thread explaining why people should be thanking God for their illnesses, rather than praying to God for Healing.
Everything - EVERYTHING - is an act of God. So Giving thanks for the 19 'miraculous' survivors IGNORES THE BOUNTY OF DEATH THAT GOD HATH BESTOWED UPON THE OTHER PASSENGERS.
Is not the 'Miracle of Death' just as much an act of God as the "Miracle of Survival"?
Don't give God 50% of the recognition he deserves! God deserves 100% recognition, which means thanking him for sickness, tragedy, misery death, disease and disaster.
In order to understand God correctly, a True Christian must experience what hostage victims experience, known as 'Stockholm Syndrome'. This condition causes the victim to empathise with their captor, who holds their life in the palm of his/her hand - much like our relationship with God.
So don't thrash frantically about in a spiritual panic, praying for Jesus to take his heavenly foot off the back of your neck and stop you from drowning in your own misery - If you're miserable its because Jesus wants you that way - you should start praising him by thanking him for applying his foot to your head and holding your head under the waters of misery in the first place. Capisce?

    In a nutshell -
    • God both loves and hates your friends and family and wants them to die.
    • God also loves and hates you personally- and wants you to die - sometimes horribly.
    • If he didn't want us to die, why is it we're going to?
    • You know it makes sense.
    • Praise be His name!!
The devil, whose business is to pervert the truth, mimics the exact circumstance of the Divine Sacraments. He baptises his believers and promises forgiveness of sins...he celebrates the oblation of bread, and brings in the symbol of the resurrection. Let us therefore acknowledge the craftiness of the devil, who copied certain things of those that be divine."
Tertullian (155-222 AD) from The Prescription Against Heretics' Ch XL

Out of curiosity, how do you explain the pain and sorrow inflicted by the powers and machinations of Satan as the great temptor of humanity?

Would you argue that such suffering Satan performs is condoned and dictated by God?

The pain and loss invoked by the workings of the homosexual community for example...few things can create such discord, loss, and punishment as a family torn apart or community degraded by such acts.

Do you arbitrarily pick which disasters are holy and which profane?

Why do you claim that Satan creates suffering?

Evil comes from the Lord, and from the free will of men.

Do you need a scapegoat for your own sinful lusts, Conehead?

Would you not agree that Satan is at work in this world as a temptor and corruptor of souls? I can cite a good number of scriptual examples if neccesary (The temptatin of Eve, Jesus Christ, the end times, exct.) You would be hard pressed to find greater suffering than the decay of the soul, the degredation of human character fascilitated by the schemes of Satan. It is this decay that leads an immortal soul away from the presance of God, something nothing will ever be worse than. You do make a good point that such is not simply a matter of "the devil made me do it." There exists a distinct responsability within the human soul for the choices we make.

Simply because evil comes from the Lord does not mean it is worthy of his name. Just like humanity. I've long held the opinion that it is in free will that we people are even worth noticing. There's something significant about a diety who creates a flawed creature in his image with the power to deny His obvious love. I always hesitate to presume divine will though, all I can do is onserve it in motion and trust in God and His wisdom.

If there is one thing I have plenty of, it's lustful sins. I don't honor God enough, I'm proud of my own knowledge, I do not love my neighbor as myself. Some of the choices I make in my life are very wrong, very flawed.

I say thank God that He gave His only begotten Son so that I may beg forgiveness for my sins and one day stand before the throne of God and be judged according to his Word.

Exactly, and that is what He does.

God created humans to be weak-willed creatures given to disobeying His many (over 600) commands.

Disobedience of any of those commands is punished by eternal torture in the Lake of Fire God has created, in His Holy Wisdom. After all,
            James 2:10

For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

I'm glad to see you are not taken in by the "Hippie Love God" nonsense put forth by so many LIEbral false Christians.

The improtant part of this concept is two-fold however.

While there is vengeance and wrath for the commitment of sins, there exists equally the propensity for forgiveness and mercy.

Provided you go to Christ, beg forgiveness, and attone for your sins, the burdens of your misdeed are lifted from your shoulders so you may one day stand by the side of God.

That is one of the more beautiful things about being such wretched undeserving creatures. The fact we can be honored by a forgiving God is a joy we can never fully hold and a concept we can never truly understand.
