People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wants to buy a SeaWorld park, possibly the one in San Diego, free the animals inside and replace them with virtual reality exhibits, it was reported today. Officials with the animal rights group say they have an anonymous donor willing to shell out big money to purchase at least one of SeaWorld's three parks, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

Beer company Anheuser-Busch, which is in the process of being purchased by Belgium firm InBev, operates SeaWorld parks in San Diego, Orlando and San Antonio. Experts believe InBev will divest itself of Anheuser-Busch's parks, according to the Union-Tribune.

PETA sent InBev a letter Friday offering to buy one park, with plans to replace existing animal exhibits with virtual reality exhibits, the newspaper reported.

The animals would be placed in sanctuaries with hopes of returning them to their natural habitats some day, the newspaper reported.

Anheuser-Busch owns seven other theme parks in addition to its SeaWorld parks. Combined, the parks could be worth as much as $4 billion, according to the Union-Tribune.

Neither SeaWorld nor InBev have commented on PETA's offer.

Those human haters over at PETA really need to find a better way to waste their money.

Why would PETA do such a thing? I've been to Sea World numerous times, hell, I've even been behind the scenes over there and they take excellent care of the animals there. There's no way I would just go to see a virtual reality version of it. If they're happy there, why get rid of them?

And Eliot, depending on where you live you can't hunt whales. Only Japan, Norway, and Iceland allow it, and they all have quotas for the number of whales they can catch per year.

"So God made the wild animals, the tame animals, and all the small crawling animals of the earth. God saw this was good."

Perhaps this specific passage may not cover Shamu, but earlier in 20-22 he creates and blesses and considers good the creatures of the air and sea.

In respect to PETA's particular preferences, to wish to preserve, protect, and value that which God Himself created and thought good is nothing to be scoffed at.

Their methods though, a bit insane and misguided at times, so an otherwise noble endeavor receives a veneer of rediculousness.

Unfortunate really.

God has put us in charge or the animals on this earth, He has given us dominion over them.

PETA is a known terrorist organization who want nothing less than to turn the world into a bunch of limp-wristed, salad-chomping pansies! There is nothing "noble" about them. They hate Jesus and they hate freedom.

Well spoken Ebenezer Wright, I concur that humanity was made undisputed master of the natural things of the world (with respect to the One Master of all), just as we are the caretakers of the temples and holy places of this world.

Simply because we were granted so generous a power by the Lord himself does not give us a license to be irresponsible with said authority. Consider Colassians Chapter 4. If one can draw a parallel between an master and a slave and the dominion makind was given over nature, one could reasonably state though mankind is master of nature, we have no need to be flagrantly and irresponsibly destructive.

That being said, the promotion of human society requires certain natural sacrafices in order to advance. PETA can't seem to wrap their heads around this. They seek to deny humanity our rightful place as consumers of the bounty created for our disposal. I think they are wrong in this, but likewise do I believe parties attempting to take shortcuts and harm nature out of their own sloth are wrong.

Make no mistake, I'm not praising PETA, I'm simply saying they took a good idea and perverted it to their own liberal bias.

As far as 28 Days Later was concerned, I never really put much stock in the threat of a zombie plague, until those suckers started sprinting.
