It seems that the Catholics will be having a "Miss Sister 2008" pageant!
I for one do not think that these women who have supposedly given themselves fully to God need to parading around showing off there bodies. It just seems a little foolish for the Catholics to support this, but I guess it is not surprising!

An Italian priest and theologian said Sunday he is organizing an online beauty pageant for nuns to give them more visibility within the Catholic Church and to fight the stereotype that they are all old and dour.

"We are not going to parade nuns in bathing suits," Rungi said by telephone from his town of Mondragone. "But being ugly is not a requirement for becoming a nun. External beauty is gift from God, and we mustn't hide it."

Provided such a display is done on more of a merit based rubric of value as apposed to pure physical beauty, I could see this as shaping up to be an effective event to extoll the virtues of an individual devoted to their faith.

It could go either way really, embarrassing display of mainstream appeasement, or exercize in the moral alternative.

May not agree with the specific doctrines or teachings of catholicism, but I have a respect for the dedication many of their number show to God.

While this is certainly ridiculous, I do remember Sister Marguerite from back in my unsaved days. A lithe, dark-eyed beauty whose soft, pouting lips naturally had the slightest tinge of cherry in their color, and her firm, supple body made rock hard from all her work in the vineyard, yet her skin was as soft as butter. It disgusts me to think about it and the affronts to God and nature we got up to, but a filthy slattern like her would probably be perfect for nonsense like this.

I would be very interested if you had any information supporting this ascertation. I've made a bit of an effort to study their ways (as I think they are savagely wrong and like to have information to support this stance) so if you could guide me to reliable information on any Satanic connection the Catholic Church may have, I'd appreciete it.

Personally i'm just bitter they are so elitst with whom can and can't receive communion. I find it personally insulting.

I'm fairly sure the catholic church has been persecuting homosecuals since long before the Baptist church was established. Then again, with their rates of public molestation at an all-time high, it's hard to rely on those credentials anymore.

I suppose you could say it's a personal flaw of mine I prefer to use elaborate wording. Maybe some day I'll write a fancy book.

As far as Jenny is concerned, unless you've already barren, I suggest you try to find something better to do with your time than mock gentlemen attempting to have an intellectual discussions on the internet.

As far as Judiasm is concerned, I think they're missing something rather important (we call it the New Testament).

Interesting website, it highlighted a few of my own personal disagreements with the Catholic Church.

The consideration of Mary as some sort of divine figure is plain wrong. It was in her simplicity and mortality that Mary was the perfect choice for the mother of Jesus Christ. The Bible contains no mention of any flaws or shortcomings in Mary as a Mother or a supporter of the growth and development of Jesus. On the same token I believe involving her in the worship of the divine, as well as the cult of saints is a false thing emedded within the human desire to attempt to control the divine.

While wrong, I do not believe these inconcistancies with the truth are quite so damning as to identify them with Satanism. They actively appose the sins laid out by the commandments of God to mankind and I will assert that they are no more sinful than we. Both groups, Catholic and Protestant are sinful. That site's assertion that some of the different crusifixes used are for the purposes of Satantic worship are purely nonsence. The Catholic Church of old filled a void infested with Pagan religions closer to devil worship. If they're trying to promote the works of Satan, they must not be very good at it. As one of the largest world religions (thanks to South America) they are one of the biggest foes of the Enemy, whether wrong or right. I say call them out for the evil they are, not for the evil they're not. To so freely throw around such accusations is to help mask true servants of Satan.

Bottom line is they believe in the redeeming sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the only way to the Father is through Him. Out of curiosity, what else do you believe is neccesary to find eternal life at the side of God?
