Upon reflection on the New York Slimes article that posits "frozen natural gas pipe lines", natural gas freezes at around -200 degrees F - so it didn't get that cold in Texas. What they fail to mention is that those gas wells have all kinds of gasses in them like butane, propane, methane, etc., and they have to be separated. Then there is moisture mixed in that has to be removed before the gas is sent into the pipe line (or it will freeze). When the "windmills" froze there was no energy left to power the processing needed at the well head.
