Lazy road workers can't be bothered to fix roads - so Rod Stewart does it

Rod Stewart fixes potholes near his Harlow home

Sir Rod Stewart has filmed himself fixing potholes on a road near his home and complaining about the state of it.

Videos on the 77-year-old singer's Instagram account showed him shovelling gravel in Harlow, Essex, claiming "no-one can be bothered to do it".
The post was captioned: "Working for a living, filling holes is good for the soul!"
Come on, lazy bones! Do your work. Look, it's easy - and good for you. Here's moral role model Sir Rod stepping up to do your job, for a few minutes on TV. Tsk tsk, shame on you, lazy bones.
If I have seen further, it is by standing on the heads of others.

He is one of us, a wealthy guy, has about $300 million, who controls whatever is around him. Hopefully, the lazy blokes on his road crew will get to work. I only worry he might hurt his back.

Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

If they did a good job, people would hire them to fix their roads. But no, they'd rather lean on their brooms taking tea breaks. That's public ownership for you.

Are we sure this is voluntary, rather than some sort of community service sentence for not beating up a security guard?

I mean, there aren't too many "exclusive" hotels in that part of Essex, but there are probably several of the sort of nightclubs that Sir Roderick and his family might frequent.

          Harlow, truly a godforsaken place.

Exactly. I don't see any Baptist churches in that picture. And the fact that Rod Stewart lives there isn't exactly a glowing recommendation of its piety.
I was sinking deep in sin far from the peaceful shore,
            Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more;
But the Master of the Sea heard my despairing cry,
From the waters lifted me, now safe am I!

Filling with gravel is pointless and stupid. No surprises there!
You have to fill with hot assphalt. Rammed in tight and hard.

Really, a person like him should know better!
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
