You have to read these verses in context. God's order was a test of faith - a test that Saul failed miserably. "How badly did Saul fail?", you ask. He failed so badly that God repented ever making Saul a king - even though the Bible tells us that God repenteth not. You can't fail more badly than that.

1 Samuel 15:11 It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night.

Still, your point eludes me. Don't you Muslims normally claim that your moon god is the same God as ours? How can you reproach us for following the same God that you (mistakenly) think you follow?
