2 Birth is not complete until the umbilical cord has been severed
3 Until the umbilical cord has been severed, the baby is just so much unprocessed chow mein. Q.E.D.

1-There are cultures in which life is believed to begin when the baby takes its first breath. I never said it wasn't alive before it was born - I said that a person was someone who had already been born.

2-Birth is complete when the baby is fully removed from the mother's body and the cord severed.
