My friend, Mayor of Lancaster, CA, R. Rex Parris, hosts Pastors who pray to Jesus Christ before every City Council meeting. Well, almost every meeting. Once in a while he rotates in some ding-bat cult for a prayer.
Well, now the Godless ACLU is considering taking him to court, saying that there are "too many" references to Jesus in the prayers. It would be OK to have prayers, says ACLU, if they are evenly divided among all the religions of the City.
How many references to Jesus, may I ask, are "too many"? Is the ACLU going to hold up a Jesus Meter at every meeting that scores the number of times Jesus is mentioned? "We find a score of 10 per month unacceptable. More acceptable would be eight," is apparently how they intend to regulate praying to the most holy person is the history of mankind.
I'm happy to report that if the Jesus Meter were turned on at our Freehold City Council meetings, it would blow up.
