Four beheaded for witchcraft in India

    Sunday Sep 2 11:21 AEST
Four people in eastern India have been beheaded after being accused of witchcraft.
Four people have been arrested after three decapitated bodies were pulled from a river on Wednesday.
"The four arrested people have confessed to killing four people, including three women," said district police official P.K. Das, adding that divers were searching the river for the body of the fourth victim.
"So far we have recovered the headless and decomposed bodies of two females and a male. The body of the fourth female victim is yet to be traced. Initial clues suggest the murders could be linked to sorcery."
Police have linked the beheadings to a local village leader, saying they believe council member Siba Singh allegedly ordered the killings in revenge for his teenage son's death from a snakebite two weeks ago.
Villagers told the police that Singh, whose whereabouts are unknown, believed the four murder victims were sorcerers who had plotted the killing of his son, Das said.
"We're investigating from all possible angles," Das said.

Hahaha. These fools. Witches didnt send the snake that killed his son - JESUS DID. Superstitious retard dotheads.

Just more foolishness from the backwards third world. How anyone could believe that witches could control a snake to kill someone is laughable and at the same time spits in the face of God and his Bible which are accurate and believable recountings of historic events that are still relevant today.

Its a good thing more people don't believe as we do . There's enough competition for those last places in heaven as it is.

I think you're being unfair. Whether their accusations of witcraft were correct or not, their hearts were in the right place. Besides, if those four had not been witches, God would have not allowed them to die.

Here's another article that shows that, in some ways, the third world is actually more advanced than America:

        http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/...?from=storylhs#

"...had been closer to 500 [witch-trials] in Simbu during this time. Many of the victims were killed after, or during, prolonged torture.

Dr Nicole Haley, a postdoctoral research fellow at the Australian National University, gave the most graphic accounts of anti-witch violence. She has been visiting the isolated Lake Kopiago district in the Southern Highlands since the early 1990s, often staying for many months. After learning of a series of brutal vigilante witch trials that began in December, Haley returned to investigate.

What she found by interviewing witnesses, victims and perpetrators was horrific...

Haley was told of how, on a morning last December, a sickly old man related a dream he had the previous night in which women cast spells to bring about deaths. That day, the old man's son, with other young men, snatched two of those named as witches: a woman in her 40s and her adult daughter. They were tied to casuarina trees, beaten and cut with bush knives.

Haley heard how the first woman captured was beaten and burnt over 13 days, sometimes with red-hot reinforcing steel, before she died. Relatives were able to prevent the killing of the daughter after she was tortured.
Witnesses say that on the second day the armed witch-hunters caught another two women named by the old man. One of the women had a three-month-old baby with her.

The next day a fifth woman was brought in by the men and, about a week after the initial witch-hunt, the last of the accused was caught and tortured. There have also been accounts of how a baby was cut with a machete.

In PNG and other parts of the Asia-Pacific region, evangelical Christian groups have been accused of inflaming passions by preaching against the evils of witchcraft. One religious tract translated into Indonesian cites the Bible - particularly the Book of Revelations with its reference to the "End Time" before the return of Jesus Christ - as evidence of the need for witchcraft to be rooted out. Evangelical groups have been given permission by the Howard Government to broadcast into the region from Australia, despite the obvious religious and cultural sensitivities.

Evangelised elements of the Duna tribe of Lake Kopiago - at the centre of terrible anti-witchcraft torture trials of women during the past year - have apparently been influenced by assertions that witches have fallen under the power of Satan.

... The PNG Welfare Minister, Carol Kidu, has complained of cases in PNG in which women branded as witches have been raped, stoned, buried alive, electrocuted and dragged behind vehicles.

See? In some ways the third world has gotten a bad rap it does not desrve.

Well, at least he didn't accuse God of killing his son. He might have had Christian missionaries killed instead of some demon possessed witches.

I think its great that someone is finally doing something about this witchcraft problem. But they should be stoning or drowning them, in the name of Jesus, to be more biblically accurate.

Stoned, beaten and burnt over 13 days, sometimes with red-hot reinforcing steel, let's not be picky. "A good plan today is better than a perfect plan tommorrow" - General Patton

Anyway, where God says stoning He probably meant "everybody bring your guns and do some target practice" but guns and shooting galleries hadn't been invented, so He figured stoning was the closest equivalent (Sling-stones were atually called "bullets").

And, honestly, there is no sense living in the past. Times have changed drastically, and we now have newer and more fun ways of dishing out the Wrath of God, so I say we use them. God gave us guns, and to not use them would be a sure abomination

You know, that is one of the things that I love so much about Christianity; it keeps up with the times. No one can accuse US of being stuck in the past, like those chinks who bow down to fat demons.
