  • Deepak Chopra says something intelligent!

Now, you all know what I think of Deepak Chopra, woo-peddler extraordinaire. I wouldn't say he said something intelligent if he didn't.

    But look!

Talking about his new book about MooHamHead, Chopra says:

“Why should we walk on eggshells when it comes to Islam or the Prophet?” he asks. “That’s an issue for me. I actually am telling my Muslim friends now, and publicly, ‘Hey guys, you’ve got to come out and speak out. Why are you not speaking up? What are you afraid of?’ We should not have this attitude. And I think it’s time to bring that discussion into the open.”

Granted, he follows it up by insulting all false religions AND Christianity:

“I’m hopeful that we sooner or later mature into a more secular spirituality, which takes the best from all these traditions, because there’s a lot of junk in all the traditions too,” he says. “But that will take time."
Secular spirituality? He makes it sound like it's OK to cherry pick what you like from religions, mash it all together, and chow down like a trip to Cold Stone Creamery. Faith isn't a product!
    Bible boring? Nonsense!

You can't be a Christian if you don't know God's Word!

Well no, it's alright for HIM to cherry pick every religion out there, and make up whatever else he can think of. The schmucks who buy his books should just swallow what he has to say and never question him. If it was okay for the rest of us to pick and choose what to believe, he wouldn't be able to trash anyone's beliefs.

    Liebral hypocrisy strikes again.

Years ago, I read a book about the essential unity of all religions. The writer quoted the Bible verse about how all scripture is given for us to learn, etc. He took that to mean ALL scripture from all religions. What nuttiness!

I bet that he's dead and in hell now.

It's evidence of not only the cowardice of Islam, but the entire civilized world, that Deepak thinks he's some sort of hero or visionary for stating the painfully obvious - namely, that Muslims should rebuke terrorism spawned by their religion.

And when he talks about "traditions" Deepak devalues Christianity. (He devalues all religions but who cares about anything but ours?) When he uses it, the word 'tradition' sounds to me synonymous with "what some people practice" or "rituals not necessarily denoting truth."

God is Truth, not 'tradition' !
Leviticus 13:44 He is a leprous man, he is UNCLEAN: the priest shall pronounce him utterly UNCLEAN; his plague is in his head.

2 Kings 6:25 And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver.
