What can anyone expect from a "country" populated by criminals? Every person who came to the United States did so of their own free will, wanting to make better lives for themselves and their families. Everyone sent to Autistralia was banished there to protect decent folk from their criminal ways.

Firstly, I'd just like to say that I don't agree with Rudds latest political stunt to try and secure another labour vote.... The whole hipocrasy of it all is quite simple. The Aboriginals, get an apology in writing so they can sue the Australian government for millions of dollars.

Now I do believe that what the government did back then was wrong! There is no "God" in this universe that would allow this to happen. It was immoral, inhumane and simply wrong!

The government has tried on various levels to help Australias first inhabitants which have lived here for more than 40,000 years. Thier culture and way of life preserved the land, they didn't over fish our oceans, the didn't graze our lands to death, they didn't wipe out forests and totally destroy native wildlife. No, the white man was responsible for that...

Now I'm no tree huggin hippy. Not by any stretch of the imagination. I love shooting, I love seeing/hearing a bulldozer push a big old gum over. But when I am involved in those acts, we have reason for it. Whether it's knocking some trees over to clear a fence line, of if it's killing a few animals for pest control. It's not to the point of total innihalation!

I'm not here to change your minds about what you believe, I know this is impossible. However I would like topass on my limited knowledge of the subject as it appears that I obviously know more than those regular "pro-christian" members that have posted here. Apart from the man that has lived here "most of his life", have any of you actually been to Australia? Have you come here and actually seen the true beauty of a country with some of the most diverse, arid and plentiful lands in the world. Although we are a relatively new country as far as history goes, we have achieved so much on a global scale.

We may have originally been an outpost for prisoners from a country that's prison population was overflowing, but with those prisoners there were actually free men that sought a new life over in the great land of ours.

I don't profess that we are the best country in the world, I don't think that other countries are beneath us. But I do strongly believe that Australia is a country that has been built on comradery, mateship and acceptance. We are a multi-cultural society that is home to many a different european, asian and american nationalities.

If you really knew the truth and history about Australia you wouldn't be too quick to put us down.

I honestly do find your faith very contradictory though. As Christians, did you know that you all come from the singular base of religion and that you believe in the same thing as muslims, catholics, Protistants, jews etc. All of these religions believe in one god/profit, but it just so happens that they have different names. Through the ages of time the stories get twisted around much like agame of chinese whispers. Then come today you have thousands of different religions that all believe in the same thing. Some take words from the bible and twist them around turn them against minority groups and say it's the will of "God"...

Could someone please explain to me the difference between Catholisism and what you all believe in?

I know I've gotten a little off track, however I just struggle to find the logial connection between "Gods" will and racial discrimination... While i think everyone is entitiled to their view on stuff, this comment is just plain stupid.

We were founded by the first fleet yes, we were used as a prison for a while yes.
But unless you are stuck under a bloody rock you would also realise that many people have come over here at their FREE will to live in this country.

I mean i have read some posts on here and have come to the conclusion you all do not know anything about the world, apart from America or you are just plain stupid. Which is by the way how Americans are viewed from most of us! Judging by this forum who can blame people for thinking that?

They are people not "things" they eat grubs, not maggots. They had their own way of law, which was different to ours, but it worked for them.
Im also sure there are many Christians among them, some due to the stolen generation and some because they found it what they were looking for (they obviously have not looked at this website)
Also their language is different to English, they do not grunt they speak in their language, this concept of another language other that English maybe hard for you to comprehend but there is others, yet alot do speak English, alot do work in our communities, also alot are bad, drink and are violent.
As with any socitey. Im sure you hear about all the school/mall shooings in your own country? I know we do and thank goodness we have gun laws.

Anyways im sure noone will like this post, but i do not mean to offend anyone, but really you should have a look into some things before you mouth on about what you really have no idea at all about!
