Things are getting ridiculous when the Des Moines Police Department stops roosters from deciding who gets the hens. They raided a small businessman and took all of his chickens.

God mentions roosters several times in the Bible. He trained roosters to give us notice of when someone is lying (Matt. 26:34) and perhaps other important information. It is not a sin to place wagers on which of these noble animals will kill the another. I think we may have a religious freedom issue here:

The animal control officer could see that a majority of the birds had been physically groomed in a way consistent with preparing them for cockfighting, including the removal of the combs and wattles from their heads, an act which can reduce the risk of severe blood loss when animals are injured during a fight, according to the report. The birds also appeared groomed to facilitate the attachment of spurs or metal blades, the officer wrote in the report.

It's only in Obama's America that proper grooming is found to be illegal. Maybe roosters should all be dressed in "low slung" jeans with boxer's shorts flapping all out there in the breeze. I despair when I think of society today compared to the Golden Age, sometime around the 19... let's say 1900s to the... well, let's say the 2008s? I just despair of all that happened between that nice stable period of time in the Golden Ages compared to the terribly unstable times now. It makes a man want to nuke a country, I mean, we're men right? And that's the point of having nukes right? Right???

Thank you, Pastor Zeke, for telling us of your own enjoyment of the cock fighting sport and of its link to the Bible.

I marvel at the inventiveness of those professionals who raise the birds and stage the events. A while back they realized the fights would be even more exciting with more blood. They devised a way to attach razor blades to the feet. Now we can see talented birds who are aware of the blades use moves to exploit this weapon.

God created for our enjoyment these marvelous fight-to-the-death birds.
