Re: An Opportunity to Learn Fine Art

The Cadillac Ranch in Texas probably has been seen by more people than any other piece of art in the U.S. You would think art professors would be chartering buses so their students could take this all in. Sadly, it has received no awards from the nose-in-the-sky art world.

Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

I am afraid that even if I live to be 120 years of age, I shall never understand this modern art -- just as I fail to understand the artists that claim to be so highly creative. I do agree, though, that it seems strange that busloads of art lovers and art students are not paying huge sums of money to look at that Cadillac exhibit. They're probably too busy admiring this sort of garbage art:

Or, maybe they're still going gaga over this ridiculous woman and her meat dress!

Neither of the above items have anything to do with true art. For that, one needs to look no further than here:

Hebrews 10:19 " Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the of "

          Word art? Isn't that poetry?
Maybe in this post-postmodern era even non-poetry is spurned.
When meaning no longer inhabits words, what is there left for the mouth to do?

Quite, Sister Mitza. Something I have noticed is that greenie liberals always attack the best things in our society. Where for example is the high brow artistic commentary on these cars? Not good enough for the elitists. No cheering audience. Not eligible for course credit.

Re: An Opportunity to Learn Fine Art

The Greens are more-or-less communists but not all commies are green. We, of course, can't cut down dangerous trees or generate electricity or drive cars or use air conditioning or grow crops or manufacture anything because of the manatees. And so the Greens are set loose to deny Christ [step 1 in the communist agenda] bring down our infrastructure [step 2] thus crashing our resources & industrial sectors [step 3] which means [step 4] an end to military hardwear, they think, so they can roll in and take over [step 5] but something they omit from their catechism is [step 6] shoot all the Greens.

Well, they will get a surprise won't they. What communist country implements any of the ruinous axioms espoused by Greens? To the extent they adopt Marx of course, no extra ruin is called for: it's straight down the gurgler in a generation. If they evict Marx, apart from in the party room or as used for slogans, what happens is a textbook case of laissez-faire pandemonium plus a bit of Austrian-style meddling with exchange rates resulting in an avalanche of junk that needs to be replaced frequently and factories polluting more and more every time they make the next one. Greens? Nowhere to be seen.

Art is a decadent tool in their hands. Idiotic cows and I-drink-ink-then-vomit-art displays have a single objective. Destruction. And yet as you point out when someone acknowledges the environment, as in your picture, where is the high elite? Nature is "respected" with vegetation left to its own devices; even the vehicles have been repurposed as planters and for wire mesh patination (very popular with Green artists as a medium) and to enclose what look like bio-degradable containers. As an installation in some crackpot gallery this would be worth millions.

But of course once it was relocated it would only be a reproduction or even cultural appropriation. Greenies would be frothing at the mouth, the communists would arrive, take over, then shoot the lot of them.

              I'm so glad I'm not a communist.

I don't think penetration by a carrot is an appropriate theme for a public artwork. We don't want to give the ladies out there any untoward ideas.

I don't know the background of carrot art. What we know is the ear corn art taught in South Dakota is a ticket to the top of the art world. If an art student learn corn art that student can do most anything. This excludes, of course, nude women.

My Brothers, anything in the last 50-200 years is most probably infected with feminazi ideas. I hesitate to tell you the common theme in all these modern art works. Hint: it's not a carrot.
