  • Apology From The Freehold, Iowa PTA

We have been asked by the recording secretary of the Freehold Iowa Parent-Teacher Association to convey their most sincere apologies for selecting the film Debbie Does Dallas for showing at the group's semi-annual fundraiser and social event last week. The film's distributor represented that it was the story of a troubled teenage girl who turns away from a life of prostitution and, with help from Jesus and the support of her church youth group, finds success as a Dallas Cowboy's cheerleader.

It turns out that this description bears only a superficial resemblance to the actual plot of the movie. According to one attendee, Freehold High School sophomore Jeremy Rogers, the film was inappropriate but also highly educational. "I didn't know a girl could do that," he said in an interview given to the Truth and Light immediately following the screening. "I never thought much of these fundraisers before, but I'll be first in line to sign up from now on," Rogers added.

The PTA board regrets any confusion or discomfort this regrettable oversight may have caused, and promises to take steps to ensure that this sort of incident will not happen again, according to their written statement. The film's distributor, Films 4 Hire of Dubuque, Iowa, did not immediately respond to our request for comment.

Let me add my apology to parents. There are supposed to be committees that screen visuals and books our children see. Somehow this one slipped by due to the press of time.

I'm looking forward to passing judgement myself on this one with the sinful Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.

Brothers, I took the initiative to watch the trailer. It's shocking! There's almost no storyline. The attendees must have been bored stiff.

If I have seen further, it is by standing on the heads of others.

Indeed, good Dr. Toole. The plot does seem pretty thin from that trailer. But I haven't seen acting that good since A Thief in the Night, a wholesome Christian film that the whole family can enjoy, especially the beheading scene in the second sequel. I understand that Debbie Does Dallas also had several sequels, but nobody in those films loses their head if I have been informed correctly.

I think it’s beautiful that an apology was forthcoming from the esteemed educational movers and shakers but a Freehold friend who chose anonymity questions why the film was not stopped immediately rather than playing to its climax? As someone who has been to Dallas I find this movie show lacking in its quality and realism. But my opinion isn’t the issue here. May God help the youth and adults who viewed the smut and bleach it from their memories with an holy bleach.

This is an excellent question, Brother Larry. I was not present at the showing, but I understand from interviewing some of the attendees that everyone present was so disturbed by the on-screen activities depicted in this motion picture that they were paralyzed by the shock and shame. Also, the projectionist only has one usable hand after an unfortunate accident with a corn harvester, and that hand was, according to witnesses, occupied holding his hot dog.

In retrospect, I'm sure that everyone concerned wishes that things had not played out the way they did. But sometimes, events just seem to spiral out of control. No doubt about it, this catastrophe has resulted in a conspicuous stain on the otherwise unblemished record of the Freehold PTA. Personally, I see the hand of the Devil in all of this.

I'm relieved to observe that no one has come forth to defend slut Debbie as attempting to prevent the spilling of seed.
